No.So Gravel and Mersch have left for other teams. Remember when these two were touted as exactly what the Kings need?
Wow. Miller got paid. Good for him.

Today marks a historic day in Kings history.
I'm sure those who were fans then recall fondly just how often this team would pass off guys who top off at 40 points as legit top six talent. They did it with Steve Heinze, Erik Rasmussen, and Trent Klatt.
I guess having guys like Dwight King and Trevor Lewis inserted in top six roles when Darryl Sutter's dementia set in was not too dissimilar.
I didn’t mind Klatt it’s just, as you say, he wasn’t legit top six. A decent complimentary player with a good effort. If he’d been sold to us appropriately he’d be remembered more fondly.
no, i don't remember that at all. Who the hell thought Mersch was exactly what we needed? Everyone that saw him skate once knew he was not going to be anything mind-blowing. As for Gravel.....they signed him to an AHL - prover yourself contract first before an NHL contract, no? What's that supposed to say about what the team thought of him from the beginning? they were both projects that did not pan out well, that's it.So Gravel and Mersch have left for other teams. Toronto pays 25% of Phaneuf caphit.
If his contract is bought out do they pay 25% of his buyout?

If so he is not really problem.Yes, Ottawa pays 25% of the buyout.
Nothing but good things to say about Trent Klatt.
I don't think there are King fans around who don't appreciate Klatt's hockey abilities. The issue for the Kings is and has been forcing players into roles they don't belong in simply because they can't attract talent in free agency. Don't lie to me and tell me a guy playing 12 minutes a night is a top 6er. Erik Rasmussen was another one. Barely playing in Buffalo, coming off an 8 goal campaign, the Kings grab him, lie to the fans and he's so bad scores 4 goals and is gone in one season like Klatt...and Cammalerri, I'm sure the list is a lot longer.
So then.....before this season, William Karlsson had NO BUSINESS playing top six minutes?
Just curious as how this works...
I totally agree with what I think is your point and that is that guys who flash ability should also be given opportunity. Am I right in assuming that?
I think the issue people took with a situation like Rasmussen is that he was being absolutely sold as a 'solution' with no contingency plan, sort of the Oilers equivalent of jamming top picks into the top six and wondering what's wrong. Same thing with Klatt, who is obviously likeable and had a good skillset as a complementary player, but the organization (and to some degree the media) at that time had this smug attitude like the fans were stupid and didn't know better which is what rubbed salt in it.
Agreed, and agree, but Rasmussen was a #7 OA pick, who might have been a late bloomer etc, he had a few years with a REALLY bad Sabres team, it was absolutely reasonable to see if he could breakout etc...
He played on one non-playoff Sabres team.
Worst team he played for was the Kings.
