These are some that I found really quickly. Just saying in general goalies have skated up to fight him more than a few times. That was just a quick search.

In each one of those, Quick is already engaged with a skater and can't get to the opposing goalie in any of them unless he breaks free of the refs and charges the guy. Let me know when one actually crosses a line instead of coming out acting tough.

I guess we see different things cause he seems perfectly capable to me.

Capable? I suppose. "Should fight the other goalie" or "being challenged" I disagree on. Absolutely zero of those were an opposing goalie being remotely threatening. I'm trying to get what you're saying but if goalies fought every time one of them headed towards the blue line during a scrum we'd see a lot more goalie fights. The problem in these cases is Quick CAUSES the fights around his net; if we saw one where all 5 guys were engaged and the other goalie was willing, I'm sure he'd do it.

Kings are the 3rd oldest team (average age of players ) in the NHL, with average age of 29.14
Gee, signing Jagr would have sent them up the charts with a rocket

https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/

Ottawa #1 average age 29.73
Detroit #2 average age 29.27

Oilers and blue Jackets are the youngest by average age.

The Kings are basically saying either Sutter was the worst coach in hockey or this is a re-tooling year without telling the fans that cause nobody will show up. Older players, hope, raised ticket prices and 6 million in cap space-that's the Kings summer so far. Those 4 things usually don't mesh well.

Are you ****ing serious. 3rd oldest team. God damn wtf.

If Kopitar has another bad season, kings must go all in and trade Kopitar, and try to unload Quick.

The issue isn't the age of Quick and Kopitar it's the lack of quality youth coming through to fill out bottom 6 roles on ELC contracts. That will improve as we refill the prospect pool. The age of our core veterans is fine.

The issue with Quick is absolutely his age, he hasn't been the same for a while, and his reoccurring groin injuries are a huge red flag. He's for sure in the twilight of his career.

With Kopitar, I think he has another solid 5 years in him.

These aren't your 2012 Los Angeles Kings. Great run, but it's over.

Same as last year. They started doing this right after the loss to SJ(I think Lombardi knew full well Lucic was gone, offer or no offer). They tried one more time in 15-16, it didn't work, and they've been cobbling together a roster since. They're stuck with the contracts, and they don't want to flat out tank. They have $6m in cap space, but the salary is much closer to the cap. Considering they haven't gotten much bang for their buck since 2014, and things flamed out in 15-16, my guess is they won't invest in this roster until it shows it's worth investing in.

The whole rebuilding effort kicked into high gear when they knew they were getting Doughty. Within about 12 month of drafting him, they also got Stoll, Greene, Williams, Scuderi, and Smyth. A rebuilding effort will only start if Doughty leaves. Should he go, or start leaning that way, that's when he, Carter, and anyone else left that still has value will get dealt.

... How do you know so much about his girlfriend..?

I prefaced my comment with 'if' it's the same GF because I don't know who he got engaged to, that info was not in the post I commented on. I read an article about him the summer after they won the 2nd cup, a long article in Sportnet , his lifestyle, loves relaxing in the summer, playing etc. And his GF was someone named Nicole and had known him since 9th grade.

If it is her, she works in the IT field and also is a coach in Toronto. And it would be good for him to have somebody's he's known that long, would ground him a bit. LIke Bon Jovi being married all these years to his High School girlfriend. But it might not be her...

IIRC the 2012 Kings were the 2nd or 3rd youngest team in the NHL. 5 years is an eternity in sports of course, but crazy what adding 5 years to the core and mostly evaporating a 'generation' of prospects will do.

Indeed they were one of the younger teams in the NHL in 2012.
