Nice trade by Peter Chiarelli

Trades 16 (Barzal? Connor? White? Konecny?) and 33 (Carlo?)

Got

Griffin Reinhart

Then loses him to Vegas

What's worse

Boychuk 5/30 NMC

Or

Smith 5/25

I can't believe Smith got dealt before kicked in

Backes

4/22 left but at least he was one of best forwards vs Sens

Chiarelli must have wanted to hurl when he saw Reinhart name flipped

I doubt that he's losing much sleep over that, what with having been gifted Connor McDavid.

There is still time for Sweeney to trade out of this disaster of a draft. Get a 3rd line wing or a second and third next year, something that has some chance of being a productive player at some point.

As far as Chiarelli goes when he was announced as a finalist for GM of the year I threw up a little bit. I guess having lottery balls fall your way makes you a great GM now.

Worse might be the 25.6 million they spent on Hayes and Beleskey (whom they used Smith's money for).. ;)

I love Reilly Smith but even I would never have given him that deal.

Chia was lauded a great GM here when he already had the entire core here. He did add nicely though.

No, no... Sweeney is way smartah, those free agents and trades were all Chia's fault. You will see when all his draft picks become future hall of famers...just you wait!! *scarcasm*

How did you feel when he won Sporting News Executive of the Year back in 2009?

I mean, he was already gifted Bergeron/Lucic/Krejci/Marchand/Thomas/etc.

I always have said the cup team was pretty close to built when Chiarelli arrived here, he added to it to finish the deal but after the cup did very, very little right.

I was happy with him initially, as much because Sinden finally (so it seemed) really gone but started getting tired of him very quickly. There should have been another cup in 2013, that failure lays directly at Chiarelli's feet. Kaspars Daugavins??? Because "trades are hard".

I like Edmonton, they are one of the few tough teams left, I hope they win their next cup the year after they fire Chiarelli.

If we move back I'd love to get Jaret Anderson-Dolan because of his name but skillset

Best of two worlds pick

JFK & JAD

Jacobs on jersey lettering sales alone could jump a spot or two on Forbes richest Americans list

Glad to see you back

Thanks....needed to take a break for a bit but decided the next couple weeks this would be an interesting place (even if this is the least amount of attention I've paid to a draft in years, I don't even care who the Bruins take, I know less than nothing about this years draft class.

The correct answer from worst to least worst is:

Boychuk
Backes
Smith
