As far as pure value goes, I think the Sharks had the best draft out of anyone. They got tremendous value for where they were picking

So obviously the Rangers are trying to load up on a group of guys who will be playing pro in North America within the next 18 months. Trying to make up for years of having an extremely depleted pool due to lack of picks. Explains why they went so heavy on UDFA's as well.

I think value-wise, we had one of the weakest drafts. It certainly seems like we didn't take the best player available.



Then again, I'm no scout and I have no idea where Gordie and co. had these players ranked.

If a guy has a big recognizable name that means he is well known to scouts. If that guy lasts till the 7th-8th round he is unlikely to be a quality player in the NHL. I think unknown players that fans do not recognize have a better chance come the 7th-8th rounds.

Yeah if fans don't know them they act as if the player is trash. Which is untrue. Only time will tell.
