Feel so bad for Donato there. That was absolutely a situation where he would have been out there, and instead he had to watch his team lose it from the locker room without being able to help at all. Not sure he would have made any difference, but still a huge bummer to come that far and not be able to help during your team's most important moment.

Wow, that would be awful. Poor guy. What a flukey thing too. :(

90% sure I heard Bucci call Notre Dame the "Golden Gophers" earlier in the game. Could just have been a nod to the helmets, but with these guys...who knows.

Nothing would surprise me. At this point I have the game on but I'm not really paying attention.

Those helmets give me a headache. Way too shiny. I know gold is their thing but still...

Finalize that contract tonight, fly Bjork to Boston tomorrow and burn that ELC year Saturday at 3 pm.

Notre Dame has no business being in the Frozen Four but they were the 'host' in Chicago which may explain some non calls in Manchester.

Friend who is out there was shocked that the Blackhawks banners stayed in place as usually the NCAA bans them.

Man, the Pios just dominated this game. The championship between them and UMD is going to be fantastic. Saw the two play back in December in Denver and it was a great game.

Definitely have to imagine they were at least hoping Notre Dame or Minnesota ended up coming out of that regional. I've calmed down about that game a good bit; I've watched a lot of UML games over the last few years and whether it was the physical Cornell game the day before or just an unexpected push from ND, UML definitely seemed pretty off their game that day. Even despite some of the non-calls, they still had 3 PP chances and couldn't capitalize...I think they just played a bad game. Even if they had gotten past ND, I'm not sure with a freshman like Wall in net they would have fared much better than the Irish against that powerhouse Denver team.

As far as the Blackhawks stuff goes, that's surprising. I was at the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh for the UML game in 2013 and basically everything Penguins was gone from the arena, so I'm sure at least in the past that was true. Wonder what changed?

It was the case in 2015 when the Frozen Four was at TD. :dunno:

The Bulls banners were gone but the Blackhawks banners stayed up.

Congrats to Harvard on a great season. A gut wrenching ending, just a couple of inches away from pulling off an equalizer.

I've being seeing "odes to the Joe", with the closing of Joe Louis Arena, and since the Joe has been a staple of the college hockey scene, I thought I'd post this eye-popping moment(watch for ex-Bruin Steve Shields). I only saw one game there, a Wings game against Columbus while attending the 2010 Frozen Four.

What a heartbreaker for Harvard.

1-1 game late in the 3rd period and Donato breaks a skate blade. He is able to get off the ice. But while he is in the dressing room Minny Duluth is able to score with 27 or so seconds to play.

Harvard gets a post and a crossbar in the last 20 seconds, but can't find the area in between, and loses 2-1

Was really surprised at how long it took to change out that blade, but then they showed Donato's skate. He has the old Tuuk runners and not the new quick change version that my son has on his skates. You can pop a new blade in those in about 30 seconds (if that).

Bet Donato is wearing those next season.

Yeah I guess the question is how far did they have to go to get to the dressing room, they may have been using some alternate room that was a hike from the ice And then of course how well organized was it

It did take about 4-5 minutes real time for him to get back, as there were 2 whistles and 2+ minutes of gameplay

Denver U 2017 National Champions, #1 overall seed coming in, earned it, deserved it.

Now that the seasons over we can go back to wildly speculating who is going to be added to Hockey East in the near future.

Congrats to Jim Montgomery part of the dominating 42-1-2 National Champion Maine Black Bears of 1992-93, as a player.....
