Finland was disappointing two years ago, remember they didn't even score one PP goal. It is amazing what they were able to put together last year.
Ha, pun was intended?! I don't know about Jost's two-way game, I think it got a little overhyped during the draft. I mean he will definitely be better than a player like Duchene defensively, but I wouldn't expect him to be around either Landeskog's or O'Reilly's IMO (somewhere in between). Though with all that said, I think his offensive talent on the other hand was underappreciated during the draft.Maybe I'm selling Keller a bit short (get it?) for obvious reasons but from the little I've seen, it seems like Jost can be a better two-way player while Keller will be the better offensive player. Keller has been very impressive.
I don't think so, that Finland team was easily the most talented of any other nation and deserved the win. They came back against Canada and won that impressive 6-5 game.Finland was disappointing two years ago, remember they didn't even score one PP goal. I have to say, Strome has just been appalling for me all tournament. Very unimpressed.
Jordan Greenway is the type of player that Avs are surely missing; someone who has size, compete, but an underrated offensive toolset. Was extremely impressive in that 1st period, it just effin sucks that he's a Minnesota Wild selection.
Are they still force feeding him minutes when better players are getting not much?
Of course. Dubois has had a few decent plays, but you can add him to the dissapointing list as well. He and Strome should be offensive leaders on this team, and they've failed. The hard working play of guys like Roy, Jost, and Spears has been far more impressive and effective in my view. Barzal is the only real top offensive talent on Team Canada, and that's a big problem.
Strome reminds me of an even more passive Grigorenko. Dude just floats around.
Being softer than Charmin lol. I agree actually. Strome is melted butter soft
Never seen too many men called on both teams at the same time. That's hilarious.
Looked like BS on the Canadian call though.
Politics man, Strome is a Canadian household name and was drafted 3rd overall. Jost forwent Canada's junior system for America's college which made him basically play tier II juniors in remote places like Salmon Arm, Merritt, Powell, and Trail.I can't understand why Jost has seen basically zero PP time all tournament long..
Touche cgf. But Greer, Morrison, and Greenway sounds much better than Greer and Morrison.Like Greer and Morrison?
Nah, it was the right call. Dubois still had possession when an entire line jumped on, while there was still remnants of the last line and a goalie out there. Then the Americans got caught.
I really dislike how these Canadian coaches seem infatuated with Strome. The only reason the guy has points is because they basically have him and Barzal out there for 2 minutes on every PP. He has been pretty trash all tourney.
I don't remember exactly how it played out, but I felt like the puck was just dumped into the US zone and they had possession with no one around while there was a bit of a chaotic line change. Didn't seem to really affect much. Unlike the US too many men where the guy jumped on the ice and took a pass while the guy he changed for was still on the ice.
