A guy with Hamilton who has missed a mammoth amount of time is someone to look at for later rounds...Reilly Webb...He has not had a chance to develop since he has missed almost every game since being taken in the second round of the midget draft but he has lots of tools and good size. Could be a sleeper.

I can see Tim coming away from this draft with the highest rated D on his board. I'd love to see us get 2 in the first 60 picks, maybe even 3.

They'll probably do BPA as they should but I'd be happy if all three were D.

I'd be cool with something like this, as long the players are close to the top of the board at the time of the pick:

1: Liljegren/Heiskanen/Makar
2(MIN): Salo/Westerlund
3: Martin

the other picks can be purely BPA.

Watching defensemen. I like Heiskanen's game. Not the raw talent that Liljegren is, but his IQ is really high. And he's a really good skater.

I like Heiskanen. Safer pick.

Liljegren has more talent and a higher ceiling, but to me it seems like he has a high bust potential too.

I haven't seen much amateur hockey, unfortunately. I'd love to grab David Farrance in the mid rounds. He's a Boston U commit from Victor, currently with the NTDP. A bit shorter than ideal for a defenseman, but there's a lot of dynamic talent there. From what I can tell, he's been playing better as the season went on. If he hits, he'd fit in really well providing puck movement from the left side.

Right now, barring a lotto win, I've narrowed down my targets (as of today) to Heiskanen, Valimaki, and Tippett, in no order, based on a 6-11 range. So yeah, Heiskanen would make me pretty happy.

I am not the biggest Heiskanen fan, but he is probably the safest bet to become a top-4 D from this draft so I would be alright with that.

Still would prefer Valimaki a bit at the moment and think those 2 would be our most likely picks given need, likely draft position (and of course giving Risto a Finnish partner!)

Valimaki, Liljegrin, Makar, Heikanen, Vaakanainen or even Hague is who I am targeting unless one of the top forwards like Petterson or Tippett slides. My opinion of Valimaki doesn't really align with consensus, I think he's arguably the top defensive prospect in this entire draft, I view him and Valimaki as being legit top 4 guys as a safe projection but maybe even top pairing down the road.

What is wrong with Valimaki? Good size. Point a game. No injury issues. I have not seen him live and do not recall much from what I saw earlier on tv.

Robert Thomas, 2nd round. He's a forward for the London Knights. When you draft Knights you know they're in the best development situation in junior hockey.

He's not going to be a second rounder, he'll go in the first for sure.

I guess he's moved up in the rankings then because I've seen him with a 2nd round ranking all season up til the last time I looked which is probably 6 weeks ago.
