Imagine thinking they should draft anyone to fit Disco's system. Like he's going to be here in two years when you see this pick.

Hope we finish behind the Jets/Wings/Stars as they all need Dman pretty bad. Don't see that happening though.

I honestly can't see the wings going D. This is there first chance at a top forward in like 25 years. They are definitely going to take advantage of that. If we want a D really badly we need to finish ahead of WPG and hope a team like COL or DAL win the lottery.

Then again, drafting another forward is fine too if Murray can address the position in other ways. I'd still like to come away with 2 D in the second round .

Basically, I think we can still pick anywhere from 1st to 15th, however much lottery luck might be involved on the outer ends of the spectrum.

What do we do if the BPA where we pick is a forward like Middlestadt?

If you view him as an elite scorer in the NHL and you don't see any D having significant impact then you take him...if you view comparable D then you go D. We've had this debate for like five years now on here lol.

I think Vegas gets put automatically into the lottery correct? Anyone know their percentage? Aren't they guaranteed a top 3/4 pick?

A pylon that fires pucks at the boards at centre ice?

So realistically we're going to finish between 5 and 8 from the bottom, so between 6 and 9 pre lottery. Barring horrifying lotto luck, pretty much guaranteed top 10.

If we can come out of this draft with Vilardi and Thomas, I'll be happy.

Address the D by trading one of Reinhart or Nylander.

Will Liljegren be a pre draft top rated D and fall like Fowler, Jones and Chychrun have? I can see him possibly being available when we pick. Picking around 8 I'd love if Tippett is there if Liljegren is gone. If the Sabres somehow win the lottery I'd be happy walking away with Patrick/Hischier barring a team offering a 19-24 year old top pairing dman.

Dallas (vs ARZ) and Detroit (@ OTT) play tonight, wins by both would move us up to 5th Overall odds

This should be a bannable comment.

You do that, and the very next thing you start ******* about is the massive gap in our top6. Congratulations, you've traded today's problem for tonorrows. Complete nonstarter.

Draft and free agency are the only paths available.

6th because of Vegas unfortunately

No, still 5th. Vegas is just given the same odds as finishing 3rd worst. Also why the Avs don't have a 20% chance of #1, but 17.9%. Odds this year go:

17.9
12.1
10.3 (Vegas)
10.3
8.5
7.6
etc

I am not sure that would work. I do not see a Dman who could play regularly for us this year or next that we can get in the draft. I doubt we can get one in free agency. With those assumptions which are not locks but odds on likely then a hockey trade is the only way to get a top 4 D. If Reinhart will not be played at his top position where he is a very good second line centre going forward (again my humble opinion) then by all means trade him for that good 2 way puck moving Dman with cost control if he is available. Similarly Nylander--a prospect we hope (and I think) will be a good top 6 winger but no guarantees. For a player who can beat out McCabe, Bogosian, Kulikov for our #2 D? One with experience and a proven record in the nhl? Worth looking into in my opinion!

You need to Google it. The piece of artwork someone made is priceless.

Was it this?

Edit: I see it's already been found so I'll just casually mention that I made it. Props to me!
