Hell baby
That'll happen when the two teams immediately behind you pick up wins. Looks like we are gonna be in for another heart attack :laugh:

I'm confident they will make it in though

Gotta put the foot back on the gas. The young players killed them last game, logic suggests that since they are up and down they'll dominate the next one ;)

Sucks that we play the Caps on our last game, and also I think we play Ottawa the 2nd to last game, who seem to have our number lately.
We will see!

Let's hope CBJ, Pittsburgh, and Minnesota (if Caps are still in contention for Presidents' trophy) aren't within two points of them at that point so they have nothing to play for.

Better yet, let's hope we've clinched at that point :laugh:

the only good thing about playing washington last game is that they will probably be resting holtby and the big guns

Let's look at it this way - 29.6% of not making the playoffs.

I will not buy in until the math works out. I just can't after being so excited twice in the last two seasons and the bottom fell out.

Just win boys. Just win.

Not if they continue to get zilch from 60% of the forwards. D has been carrying this team on the score board over the last few weeks. THAT will come to an end.

Look around the league and at the teams that we are trying to fend off, third,fourth liners scoring goals. Deadline pick ups pitching in.

This team is in trouble.

Fenway my friend, there's a better way of looking at it. Either they do (100%) or they don't (0%). ;) j/k I took 2x All-Star Bob Stanley in an ATD recently. Have a great day all. :)

From here on out, you have to win all the games you should, and even some you shouldn't. If that doesn't get you in, then props to the few teams that got white hot and passed you.

Bruins had 1 bad game in 11 since Cassidy is the coach.

8-3-0 record.

They have the tie-break against all the teams trying to catch them so they are in if tied.

They still have 2pts over Leafs so that's a 2 games lead. They can make it a 3 games lead again with a win against Detroit tonight.

5pts over TB and Flo.

These 3 teams are the Bruins competition. If they can't stay ahead of these teams, they don't deserve to get in.

But they will. And get the Habs or Ott in round 1.

Ok but the majority of theiron remaining schedule is against teams either in or fighting for the playoffs. You also don't have room for error. You have an "off game" against det and Philly then all of a sudden you no longer control your own destiny.

I think our entire last week is chock full of teams that we are either currently chasing or being chased by. We are the Hunter and Prey at the same time. My heart can't take a third year of this.

Oops wrong thread

Anyway, they need to take care of business. If they come out unprepared a few more times this season, they're done

One sobering fact Bruins fans have to consider.

The Bruins have yet to win a game against Ottawa, Toronto and the Islanders in 7 tries this year. That does not help playoff math at all.

The odd thing was to is that I really thought they were going to go up to Ottawa and come out as gang busters and win that game. Boy was I wrong.

Wasn't really happy with their last 2 games for that matter, I'm hoping they turn it around tonight for the home stretch.

So even with all these losses and all that happened this year, Bruins are still up 2pts on Tor, 5pts over TB and Flo, holding the tie-breaker over all of them and in the driver seat to end up in the top-3 in the division with 16 games to go?

Good shape.

Bruins need to focus on winning each game. Don't worry about tie breakers or this/that team catching up. Try to win all the games. Sure, they aren't going to win ALL of them, but this loser mentality of, "well if the other teams catch up, at least we hold some sort of tie breaker against us" means absolutely nothing if that team actually surpasses us. Which from recent history, we should almost expect.

I mean, as fans our input means nothing, but you have to hope the players don't play any more dud games like the Ottawa one.

This was my post from the last thread:

I will relax when it's 101.0%

Boston has 19 games remaining (12 at home) and is at 72 Pts.

No team has ever hit 96 (edit only one team has lol) and NOT gotten in, so 12-7 would likely do the trick.

I think they can go 12-7 or better.

NYR (Loss)
NJ (Win)
@OTT (Loss)

DET
PHI
@VAN
@CGY
@EDM
@TOR

OTT
TBL
@NYI
NAS
DAL
FLA
@CHI
TBL
OTT
WAS

So, based on that, 11-5 is now the goal.

I had the NY and OTT games as losses in my head anyway. I think if they can win the next two (preferably in regulation) and go 2-2 (worst case) on the trip (with a W vs TOR) they will be in decent shape.

That would be 82 points with 10 games to go (8 at home and 2 on the road). That last 10 won't be easy, but if they can go 7-3, they will have 96 points and will deserve to get in.

Obviously going 3-1 (or 4-0) on the trip would be extremely helpful.

It's going to be close.

This seems like a replay of the past two seasons. If it is, the Bruins find another way to miss the playoffs.

I hope I'm wrong.
