Would be interesting to see where Prokhorkin and Kubalik would slide in if they were both to arrive. Given the short term deal Cammalleri is signed to, that’s one option that’ll open up after this season.

Cammy, Shore, Dowd...Gone
Amadio, Vilardi, Kubalik, Prokhorkin... fighting for 3rd/4th line positions or possibly more...

It would be an improvement over the last few seasons to have so many options at our disposal....
Iafallo - Kopitar - Brown
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
Kubalik - Kempe - Gaborik
Prokhorkin - Amadio - Lewis
Auger - Vilardi - Brodzinski

and lets not forget about the D, I think we'll resign Fantenberg and Frolin has been effective..
Forbort - Doughty
Muzzin - Fantenberg... Don't like Martinez here
MacDermid - Martinez
Frolin - LaDue
Gravel - Voynov???

Probably coincidence, but I wonder if his interest has changed since the coaching switch. Stevens has shown he will play multiple rookies at once, where Sutter was hesitant to do that.

James Neal would be a huge get for any team.
I don't know why Vegas would trade Neal. I think from the looks of it, they will be vying for a playoff spot. If so, you keep guys like that. only reason they trade Neal even though they're fighting for a spot is if Vegas wants to tank to get a better draft position.

Yep. It would be hilarious if they turn out to be buyers at the deadline. However, it still seems likely the wheels will fall off at some point.

Vegas has beaten some very good teams. I will admit it. they proved me wrong about how they'd do coming out the gate.

I am starting to move away from wanting Tavares as a UFA. With the way Iafallo, Fantenberg, Folin, Kempe, Amadio, Auger, Forbort, et al have been playing, we will need the cap space in the future to re-sign them. The cap would need to go up $5 million as some speculated for there to be a chance of JT.

Signing Iafallo, Fantenberg, Folin as UFAs? I did not see that coming nor how well they'd play. I did not see this production from Kempe either.

As it is, we will have to probably move 2 or 3 defensemen in the next 1-2 seasons. So neither that TSN article nor that earlier Lebrun speculation about trading one of Muzzin/Martinez surprised me.

Forbort/Doughty
Muzzin/Martinez
Fantenberg/Folin
MacDermid

AHL: LaDue, Clague, Moverare
Voynov?

We simply don't have the spots or the cap for them all. I still think Gaborik will be cap dumped next summer.

Vegas only needs to earn 78 points over their remaining 73 games to get 94 points, the cutoff for the playoffs last year.

They've put themselves in a very good position. The wheels would REALLY have to fall off. And frankly, they appear too well coached for that to happen.

I personally don't buy into the Martinez/Muzzin rumors. Having two guys at 4M with Doughty making a truckload is no big deal. Forbort is on a well priced contract, and none of Fantenberg, MacD, LaDue, etc are likely going to demand huge raises as they are RFA. Folin is one year guy. The Kings don't have to move anyone unless one of the younger guys force them to, and no one we have in the minors is close to Muzzin or Martinez right now. I think LaDue will replace Folin next year, leaving Gravel and MacD to fight for a roster spot.

The wildcard is Voynov, I could also see Clague forcing a move if his success translates to higher levels, but neither of those are a consideration for a couple seasons at the soonest.

The emergence of Iafallo and Kempe have really eased any potential cap issues, they've seemingly filled holes that needed addressing.

I agree. Voynov is unlikely. I'd rather see him stay in the KHL than come back and play for a competitor should the kings trade him. He made his bed and now he has to lie in it.

I don't think a trade will be done this season. Carter and Gaborik will come back at some point. the summer is where I can see it being done. LaDue will be ready at some point soon.

I think if anything MacDermid stays while Folin walks, and Gravel and LaDue continue to fight each other for a spot.

Pipedream, Shore is a quality 4th liner ala Lewis, and hes cheap, the Kings wont just walk away from him.

Shore is also a UFA at seasons end and with Kopiatr, Carter, Kempe, Vilardi, Amadio and possibly Prokhorkin and Dergachyov... Shore is likely to find a home elsewhere...

I would trade Muzzin before Martinez. But even then, why do anything? Kings are playing great. No moves necessary.

A little off topic anyone know when Clifford is back?

Rosen had an update I believe yesterday, on LAKI. Clifford hasn’t been on the ice since his “upper body” injury. If it’s another concussion, it doesn’t bode well. Hoping it’s his shoulder, for his sake.

It’s unfortunate too because he was playing his best hockey over the past couple of years and appeared to show some chemistry with Shore and Lewis.
