Lindholm and Canes far apart

Why? That's horrible. And Lindholm had one goal in his last 28 games. No thank you.

I know Toffoli looked flat at times, but why are we adding the better pick in your trade considering we are moving the more productive player?

Besides getting rid of the Gaborik contract (which was pretty significant), were you expecting him to trade Kopitar or Doughty or Carter?
Blake did alright with the Gaborik trade, that was a good one. I wouldn't characterize the other deals in the context of, "Blake isn't afraid to make a trade."

Yes, if he moved Carter to get younger and deeper, that's a trade.

Lindholm is a better player and 3 years younger. The canes would say no, anyway.
Lindholm much better skater and better defensively too.

Toffoli is more into his lifestyle and curls than hockey these last 2 yrs. Been not very good for 2
years now.

I'd say he's done well in trimming the fat on this team. A lot of dead weight has been shaved off, and it gave guys like Kempe and Iafallo more of an opportunity. I don't think he wanted to rush into making any regrettable decisions. Clearly he's not a GM at the level of a Steve Yzerman quite yet, but he's not sitting on his hands either.

I think from the get go one of the prime areas he wanted to address was stockpiling more prospects, and he has done so his first year in. I also wouldn't consider the offseason a failure if he fails to land John Tavares.
...and I wouldn't characterize missing on Tavares a failure either. It's what Blake does afterwards if he misses on Tavares that matters.

I disagree that he's better (not that i've followed Lindholm that closely mind you) It feels like people are very quick to throw TT under the bus recently. I'd move TT, but it would have to be part of a clear upgrade, Which I don't believe this is.

I have to admit that i've wondered if TT responds to a hardass coach calling him a p***y every game better than A BFF, It could be the tradeoff with Browns resurgence due to a lighter reigns.

I'd wait out for Kovy and then readjust after that. I don't think a lot of trades are going to happen until Tavares is off the table one way or another. Everyone won't want to hurt their chances at Tavares.

I think the Kings forward lineup would look like...

XXX--Kopitar--Brown
Iafallo--Carter--Vilardi
Pearson--Kempe--Toffoli
Thompson--Amadio--Lewis
Brodzinski, Clifford, Thompson (1 spot)

XXX-- Kovy or Trade

Kovy--kopitar--brown = (skill, control, power)

Iafallo--Carter--Vilardi = (attack, speed, control)

Pearson--Kempe--Toffoli = (attack, speed, snipe)

Thompson--Amdio--Lewis = (pain, control, speed)

That could end up as a lot of luggage for old man 77, a sophomore slump candidate and a rookie

But this is Rosen we are talking about. He's usually the last to know lol.

That's true, but given the amount of activity leading up to the draft, I don't anticipate much action. Kovalchuk has pretty much held four teams up who are awaiting his decision, which is likely why you won't see any moves involving the other forwards until that shoe drops.

I don't know the ins and outs of Kovy's situation but I think it sucks that he couldn't figure it out prior to the draft. Drama queen.

Boston has gone so far as to tell Nash he is sloppy seconds.

And we went through this already with Kovalchuk during the summer of 2010. Watch him wait until August to come to a decision.

I would like the Kings to pick up Carl Grundstrom LW 20 and Eemeli Rasanen D 18 maybe even Dmytro Timashov RW/LW 21. I have been liking Grundstrom for awhile and his performance in the AHL playoffs was spectacular.

Jon Rosen is awful in terms of breaking anything. Dudes on dial up while everyone is on fiber.

Kings should just pass on Kovalchuk. He says he wants to compete for a Stanley Cup and that is his biggest motivation for returning to the NHL, yet he can't figure out which team gives him the best chance by now. Blake should just go about his business as if there is no Kovalchuk.
