players from teams that wind up making the World Cup finals -- in a tourney featuring such an incredible collection of talent --- presumably will have taken this competition very seriously!

Spengler Cup is really a meaningless tournament. This year participiant from KHL - Avtomobilist played without some of its leaders. They decided to leave them at home. Obviously thats one of the signs of "not taking very seriously".
