What's that crashing sound? Oh, it's just the sound of my bracket collapsing. I totally whiffed on picking the hawks, rangers, kings, and panthers to win.

I totally screwed up in the West. I took both CHI and LAK. I'm more surprised about the Kings collapse than St Louis winning.

I'm really excited about the Pens/Cap series. I hope it's a blood bath.

Reminds me of my first hockey game. If it weren't for NHL 2003, I'd probably still be trying to figure out what icing and offsides was.

The hype around Parayko reminds me so much of the Klingberg hype few months ago.

Parayko definitely has a bomb from the point. His defense is a little suspect at times though but that's to be expected.

Definitely did not know the islanders played today. Thought round 2 doesn't start till after round 1 was over. #typicalbandwagoner

Isles take game 1

Had Bishop not crapped his pants, the Lightning could have won tonight. He's been brutal against them all season. Greiss was a beast.

Preds win.

Doesn't this mean that LA's pick is now #21?

That's how I read it:

One of the Islanders or the Lightning will be in the conference finals.

One of San Jose or Nashville will be in the conference finals.

Which means that two of those teams end up with picks 27 and 28. All the other teams are behind us (with LA's pick).

Say what you want about Laviolette's "short shelf life", but man, he sure does get a lot out of a team the first couple of years he is there. Of course, he's also had the luxury of coaching some damn talented teams as well (Canes Cup team, Flyers Preds). Total opposite of Maurice who has had little or no talent to coach.

I found this strange. I thought the next round never started until everyone in the last round had finished. Is this a new thing or am I oblivious?

I read the thread about this on the main page and someone stated it hasn't happened since 1983. There must have been some scheduling conflicts somewhere.
