He shouldn't be DFAd. He should just face lefties. I understand keeping him in against Butler. There were 2 lefties up next and it was a 5 run game with 2 outs left. Shouldn't have had to go to Kimbrel or even Barnes. But whatever. I want to see him in a high leverage situation against a lefty again.

DFA is maybe a bit strong, but there are not many games left and they need to decide whether Abad belongs on a possible playoff roster. It's not a given at this point.

Well, Farrell must have successfully shot his confidence, because his LHH numbers - as you said - are fine. Problem is, Farrell decided it would make more sense to let him face much more RHH than LHH.

We should just tell him not to worry about RHH and he won't have to face another one the rest of the year. It's September. We have like 100 pitchers. Like I said, I understand sticking with him today with a 5 run lead. But it should be the last time.

If he makes the postseason roster, it's to get lefties out and that's it.

We should tell him? You on some sort of personal relationship with him that we don't know of?

Pretty good crowd tonight - seemed a lot of baseball fans and not people just to get trashed at an event

It was like a pre John Henry, Werner, and LL era crowd.

the park is still the star and it's probably got another 15 years in it before Henry who will be around 80 has to build a new park

Henry has already said he will let the next owners deal with that issue.

They have to get rid of this before the playoffs

We were talking to one of his minions and he told us he really doesn't see him selling

This guy knows inside stuff and said he loves this - he's still like a kid with this and Liverpool

He told us figure 15 more years but at 80 he may want to

I hope he never ends up looking and acting like Mike Illitch and having his GM make moves based on his life expectancy not what is overall good for the team

My fear is Linda becomes the owner - Mrs. Yawkey 2.0

And what exactly makes this game bigger than his start on Monday against Baltimore where he pitched 8 innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 homers in a win? He's been great down the stretch. But this is the big one because he's given up runs?

Agreed...he has been money lately and is probably due for a stinker. Still disappointed to see him struggle against this line-up.
