Yep. Pains me to say but as an American I frankly can't stand our basketball team.

I wasn't exactly broken up about the USWNT losing to Sweden either.

Me neither, I've really soured on that team over the past year. The whole CBA thing which they turned into a gender issue really turned me away. Plus, I hope that loss gave them a bit of humility (well, everyone but Solo because it's obvious she'll never grow up), because it's REALLY needed for that group.

Team GBs performance has been outstanding. Wow, hoping they manage more medals than London '12. The cycling has been highlight for them.

Really enjoyed watching Mo Farrah's 10km gold win, and Murrays tennis final against Del Peotro (forgive the mis-spelling if I have).

It's like watching hockey (midnight starts mainly here) again for some of the events. We're a good 4hrs ahead over here, so I missed Usain Bolt's 100m and a few other events I wanted to see because I had work in the morning.

Wow, Sweden advance to the final after a win over Brazil, also on penalties. No one thought about this before the tournament, even less after the game against Brazil in the group stage (1-5).

This will give Sweden their seventh medal.

Second gold today for Sweden, Jenny Rissveds in mountain-bike!

11 medals in total for Sweden, just because I have nothing else to do, I can list them here.

Gold: Sarah Sjöström (swimming), Jenny Rissveds (mountain-bike)
Silver: Football (ladies), Sarah Sjöström (swimming), Henrik Stenson (golf), Marcus Svensson (ske*t shooting), Peder Fredricson (horse/show jumping), Emma Johansson (cycling)
Bronze: Sofia Mattson (wrestling), Jenny Fransson (wrestling), Sarah Sjöström (swimming)

Edit: Okey, so you're not able to write sket with two e.

Curious to see what you guys think about the transgender athlete winning the women's 800 meter? Not the fact that she's transgender, but in terms of fairness. Must be very difficult for the IOC.

I don't think anyone has confirmed, her included, that she is transgender?

I never heard the term transgender either.I don't know how reliable the source is that I read but the article claimed that she was tested due to her times getting drastically better. They found that her testosterone levels were a bit higher than average for a woman. The article went on to claim she was born a hermaphrodite but it's obvious she identifies as a woman. Apparently it's been said testosterone doesn't actually help women that much performance wise.
