gotcha, as long as whomever is playing on the 2nd and 3rd lines do not drag down Carter/Kopitar/Pearson/Toffoli sure

Think those 4 player play on top two lines, add Brown and King and it leaves Gaborik and playmaker Purcell on the 3rd line.

Pearson-Kopitar-Brown
King-Carter-Toffoli
Gaborik-Shore/Dowd/Lewis-Purcell

I don`t know but one thing i know and that is that goal scoring is going to be even harder with these players. If Purcell scores 15 goals under Sutter i`m going to be surprised.

Goals in today's NHL are scored in front of the net. That has more to do with will power, and hands in tight.

There isn't a NHL coach on this planet, that is telling players (Hey don't go to the blue paint). It honestly has nothing to do with Sutter or his coaching staff.

You hear the same thing out of Sutter every single slump the Kings hit with scoring. Sutter: "You have to get in front of the net to score in this league".

If Purcell doesn't score around 15 Goals this coming season, it's his fault, not Sutter's.

Just like it's Brown's fault, that he won't take a little more punishment in front of the net, to be more productive.

The Kings as a whole have become too much of a perimeter team. That is probably driving the Coaches crazy.

You have to be willing to take punishment nightly to score goals, unless you got a hell of a wrist/slap shot.

I`m saying giving Brown atleast 3min less playing time per game for the last 3 years not going to effect his score and hits. It is well known fact that Brown and Sutter has some issues. 2012-2013 season 46 games and 19:30 per game = 0.63ptspg. Next year 2013-2014 15:50 per game = 0.34ptspg. Did he decline so much in one year or is there something behind Brown and Sutter. 3:40 per game less time to play i think everybody would score less. And for the Purcell its all about what kind a player you get and Purcell is not Sutter kind a player.

Brown has been given every opportunity to re-earn his ice time IMO. I do think there is obviously something between the two, but I also think that Sutter wants to win and would not ice Brown because of any sort of beef.

I want as many kings to miss the WCH as possible. All it will do is create injuries.

Seems like a few guys are starting to drop out because of undisclosed injuries, or to "focus on rehab". In other words, not risk injury. Benn and Keith being the most recent examples.

Unless they decide to not participate in the olympics (I can't imagine this happens), this event will be like the world championships every spring. None of the available top end players for NA teams on reasonably good NHL teams will care. (see Kings NA players the last 2 summers)

You guys are harsh. Don't want the players having kids, don't want them playing in the WC.

Geez... :)

hahha I was the kids one and was joking..mostly. I mean look at what happened o Brown.

The WHC I also chimed in on...I have zero hype of this tourney. Means nothing to me, and I could care less about it.

I think it loses meaning for those players that arent playing for their country.

I think it loses its meaning because there are soo may international tournaments now. I know it is during the playoffs so not everyone can attend but the this is way to close to the World Championships

Maybe a few more would bounce in off him, but I've seen him swinging away in the crease plenty. He just caught a sever case of Trevor Lewis Hands. Don't think going to the net is going to help Brown any.

the WC is just a place for the top end talent players to get their preseason/exhibition games in allowing more room for competition in main camps. I'd rather have the top end players playing in the WC than NHL preseason where they'll have people trying to make a name for themselves taking runs at stars. I don't get the hate over it.

On the other hand Sutter has force fed ice time to players like Richards and Stoll for absolutely no reason. Nobody in their right mind would have rewarded Brown with ice time but Sutter's history is if you're a veteran you'e gonna play a lot-regardless of production. I think with Brown the instruction is go to the front of the net or you don't play, simple as that. Brown refuses to go to the front.

Well PP has been big part of Brown`s goal`s he has 4pp goals in last 3 seasons, 2012-2013 GP46 18G with almost half where pp goals 8...so there is that thing also. If you take his PP goals from him he has been outputting same numbers as he is doing now. well with some decline...

I wouldn't be surprised if their plan all along was to replace the Olympics participation with the World Cup participation.

With ESPN burying most of the games ratings will be dreadful and you will have to actively search in order to watch games. Can't imagine this is going to be a success.

Kopitar should play the WC in full bubble wrap, and his wife and upcoming child should be cryogenically frozen until next July. I think that's a fair compromise :sarcasm:
