I don't either some mock drafts have Arizona taking him with their #7 overall pick, It would be a major miracle if Chychrun fell to us at #16.

It would be like Christmas in June. The Wings are going to have to trade up if they want to land Chychrun. That itself would be a minor miracle aswell.

This draft is really growing on me. Sergachev and Fabbro look like great prospects. And some of the forwards in our range look like they have unusually high ceilings for mid first round picks.

I know forward wouldn't be a popular pick, but there might just be another couple Larkin/Fabbri's floating around in the middle of the first.

I just really don't want Juolevi and thankfully it looks like he will be long gone before we pick. I'm also weiry of McAvoy, but don't know him as well as Juolevi.

Red Wings picks are:
-Julien Gauthier, 1st round, i can't see Wright saying no to this guy. Big body, scoring touch, right-handed.

-Ryan Lindgren, 2nd round, very safe pick he's gonna be solid d-man one day.

-Kenny Johnson, 4rth round, potential steal pick future top-3 d-man.

-Mitch Eliot, 5fth round, another safe pick d-man pick. Two-way d-man.

-Kristian Rubins, 6xth round, Latvian d-man who plays in VIK Västerås HK. Just like one dude named Nicklas....

Doubt that Cychrun will go to the #12 overall, Still think he will go top 10.

You think Wright is going to take a winger with no center experience with our 1st? We're going to have 20 goal wingers on all 3 lines at this point with a 30 point center as our 2C.

We just have to wait and see, i would take Rubstov, Bellows or Howden. And if Holland thinks he can get Stamkos, then we don't need to draft a center. But that's a big IF.

I can easily see Wright saying no to Gauthier. Signing Stamkos has absolutely nothing to do with draft needs. Hell, free agency doesn't open until after the draft.

2013 draft wings trade down , getting Mantha and little Bert . history will show if it was a good trade. If Rubtsov is in early twenties and he is kind of what Detroit like to get maybe we can trade down again to get extra defender in the second round

If the Wings draft Gauthier, we riot. That guy has 3rd line upside.

Agreed Guru, He does not impress me at all. No interest in drafting this lead footed skater with a lot of question marks.

Look at Pittsburgh and how they are playing. Speed all over the ice. That is the future.
This game has been going away from interference for years and now they are cutting down on hitting as well. These burners are free to wheel around without being pestered (big reason I want Helm back). Drafting a slow winger seems very shortsighted.

I know nothing about the guy, but his eliteprospects.com profile makes him sound like a surefire superstar lol.

An explosive power forward who boasts an elite-level skill package. Takes nothing for granted and plays with hard-nosed work ethic. Tremendous vision and outstanding hockey sense; thrives under pressure and doesn't stray from the high-percentage play. Willingness to play physical and win battles in his own end makes him a vital asset, stepping up at the game's key moments. Exceptional skating ability allows him to stay with, if not ahead, of each unfolding play. Refined puckhandling skills allow him to maintain puck control at breakneck speeds. All-in-all, a prolific scorer whose attitude and innate abilities will constantly propel him into dominance.

Seriously, did he write that himself? If that report was 75% accurate, he’d be the #1 pick hands down.

Haha. That description is a gift.

Any thoughts on later-round defensive prospects like Filip Hronek, Samuel Girard, Cam Dineen, Lucas Johansen, Libor Hajek, Adam Fox, Luke Green, Max Lajoie, Yegor Rykov, Jordan Sambrook, Stepan Falkovsky, Cole Candella, Sebastian Aho, Lucas Carlsson, Jacob Moverare, or Filip Berglund? Non-exhaustive list.

Dineen, Johansen, Girard, maybe Hronek and Fox will be gone by the time Detroit picks in the 2nd. Although, I'd love to be wrong.

Lajoie and Sambrook have good potential, wouldn't mind either in the 4th. Falkovsky is an overager IIRC, but probably goes early 3rd like Candella.

Aho wouldn't be a bad late round choice, but all scouts already passed him over.
