Nail Yakupov is a name I think we could look into. I know he's not producing, but I just like the upside. Probably wouldn't cost much either

Question: do you find it interesting that Hartnel just purchased a home and has been renovating it for a Spring move in date? Could this mean he is staying?

I wouldn't be surprised if we kept Hartnell. He's such a big part of the team and will still probably be tradeable next year if need be.

Nail doesn't have the hockey sense, so you have to wonder about the upside. I doubt he would help the Jackets much. He might turn into a decent streaky scorer with some checking ability, but I think the Jackets have plenty of that. The Jackets need smart players with vision who make players around them better. Nail is not that kind of guy.
Too bad because he would be very cheap to acquire, and it would make Viqsi stop blathering on about how terrible it is that the Jackets can't win the lottery.

Is there a link that validates this.. Or?... How did you obtain this info?

Usually I tend to agree with most of your posts but you have me baffled on this one... Hard hard hard pass on Yak.

If we could get Yak for Tyutin I'd do it. Give Torts a shot at him. Maybe he gets it. If he does great, if not its AMF after one year.

Family lives there and we know the realtors who told us when the "for sale" sign came down. (They also know I'm a ticket holder) Trust me, it's true and I will be out there with an extra beer ready to go when the weather turns! Can't wait to welcome him. I hope he stays.

Not suggesting #Canadiens will trade Subban. Just saying one team confirmed #Habs are "gauging the market".

How about Hartnell for Drouin(kinda dependent on Stammer staying. He would definitely make that offense even more lethal. But do they have the cap or need?

And it depends on how much you think Drouins attitude could effect his play

As a reclamation project, sure, I'd give him a try.

Backes could quickly become a Clarkson type of mistake with the contract he will be offered.

Don't think he'd get near the level of awful Clarkson's contract is, but I concur with the general sentiment.

The point of those statements is that it's silly to make plans or take actions toward plans that depend on winning the lottery.

Can we not do this?

I'm sorry if you are offended and a mod can delete it if you're that upset about it, but it's just a saying. I didn't mean anything offensive. It's pretty obvious that Tyutin wouldn't fetch Yakupov.

this made me laugh to hard. +1 friend :handclap:

Yup, got an out laugh chuckle from me...I like :) Sorry Viqsi!

On a serious note, I am amazed when I go into the general rumor and speculation board. I know everyone is looking at trades simply from their own teams perspective but how many times is someone going to propose a trade with the CBJ for our young players offering big money contracts coming back? Or even dumber...they are willing to consider a Hartnell or Tyutin but only if we take a really bad contract in return...usually on a worse player.

We are Sellers...not Buyers making a run at the playoffs this year. It just seems silly on their part to offer the junk they do.

If anything, I think I tend to under-value our players. I want to rid myself of big contracts...would take any low end draft pick or mid level prospect to move Tyutin. Same for Campbell. Would be willing to take on a comparable salary as long as it ends this year. I know others want a first rounder for Hartsy but I would take a second rounder if it meant moving his money and opening doors for younger players.

Would you take Drouin for Hartnell? I think I would. We need the kind of skill Drouin could bring.

My only guess would be to try to win a Cup now before Stakos leaves. Drouin not helping team this year but Hartsy certainly can!
