Are you talking about first half Burmi or current Burmi?
I don't see Armia on the 2nd line either. It could happen but not as soon as next year. I'll stick with my earlier lineup which didn't call for any surprise moves or any top 3 pick this year, just using players we have now.
I honestly believe Stafford should be traded at the draft. With what Petan has started to show and considering the difficulty we already have finding a good fit for him I just don't see a place for him on this team next year.
If I was to fantasize about this draft I would be a little less ambitious and take PLD or Chychrun. Neither make the team next year. PLD would give Burmi a year or two to build up some trade value before he takes over at 3C. Burmi could move to the 4th line and be a very good PK'er or be traded for something worthwhile. Right now he doesn't get much return and he has been playing quite well for the last 20 games.
Perreault Schiefele Wheeler
Connor Little Ehlers
Petan Burmi Armia
Copp Lowry Dano
Connor and Petan may be switched some of the time. I switched Copp and Lowry just to be different. I really like that 4th line either way though. At some point Connor pushes Perreault down but that may take until the next year.
Trouba Byfuglien
Enstrom Myers
Morrisey Postma
Two important things about that D. The top 4 are getting top 4 minutes and Stu isn't there.
Hellebuyck
Pavelec
If I had my choice I would buyout Pav and Hutch would be the backup but this is more likely.
I think that is a pretty high quality lineup. There are no gaping holes anywhere. It will suffer from inexperience for at least 1 more year and upgrading significantly beyond there will be difficult. We will still have quality players pushing up from below but they will be mostly bottom 6/pair players. After this draft it is going to become a lot more difficult to get top 6, top 4 players. Further improvement will be slow.
