If I have to watch Marincin for one more season, i'll lose it.

I'm one of the few who actually don't mind marincin.
I think marincin has the potential to do well in a depth role. He's not looked out of place on the pk and he has an interesting ability in controlling shots against. Further improvement in skating, getting more experience against nhl players and settling with a stable partner will help.

As I said earlier Net and the D but we need some strong presence at forward position and either Ladd or Lucic would be a good signing this summer. It's very important not rely on young guns for at least a year or so and veteran presence is really good for these kids

Draft D-Men and Goalies only for the next 3 years :sarcasm:

Needs an explanation...
1.What happened to JVR,kadri and bozak?
2.When did Puli learn to play center?
3.How did we draft #2 and 3?
4. Why is komarov top line over Laine?
5.Why is rielly 2nd pair?

I know its semi sarcastic... But still.

I hear you. He's been playing a ton of minutes lately. Although not spectacular, he's still getting by carrying such a big load. I think the Leafs should give him 1 more year. He has great size and I've seen flashes of good play. He needs to be a bit more physical, although he's not as bad as advertised in that area. What I think he really needs though is an entire summer practicing outlet passes and receiving passes under pressure. If he improves in that area, and maybe learns to calm his nerves as well, then he can be a quality 5,6 guy. I don't think they should give up on him so soon.

Ridiculous talent in this forward group. Would likely contend as the NHL's best as soon as Nylander and Marner hit their strides.

It's all in good fun. Bozak traded for a bag of pucks. I thought Puli played C/RW. We draft #2, trade JVR (or trade for top10 pick this draft) + Kadri + Pits 1st + Leafs 2nd + Caps 2nd + Gauthier + Bracco for #3 (in hopes of a team rank #10-14 wins lottery and gets #3). Just prefer Laine with Puli, Komarov can make some room for Marner/Stammy, but there is no such thing as a top line with that line up. :sarcasm:

Needs-EVERYTHING.

We don't score many goals, our defencemen if full of plugs and unproven, need goaltending.

I bet you're fun to hang out with .. /s

honestly we've come so far since this time last year its incredible. Just being out from under Clarkson, Kessel and Phaneuf's contracts for the forseeable future was a massive stroke towards a proper rebuild.

Just on forward alone. We had Nylander and thats it before last deadline, we've added legit prospects all over the place since then. Kapanen, Hyman and especially Sosh (FREE WALLET!!!) all look super legit and will have futures in this league. Same with Leivo and Leipsic on prior callups. Never mind Marner and Timashov in jrs...We have tons of assets to trade, move pieces, etc. Lou is not done here at all, but man have we come a long ways. Who's more valuable in a trade to Chicago at the deadline PA Parenteau or a guy like Brenden Leipsic or Josh Leivo who come cost controlled and have upside, we can't fit all our propects in forever, some guys/picks will be moved for upgrades on NHL bodies that will supplement our youth.

Draft, develop, acrue assets, repeat.

Go sign Stamcock and Zaitsev and draft top 5 and next year its even more ridiculous how far we could potentially be along the rebuild process

obviously we want to add some size and solidify the D and goaltending... We finally have competent management, I beleaf

JVR-Bozak-PAP
Komarov-Kadri-Marner
Michalek-Nylander-XXX
XXX-XXX-XXX

XXX could be any of: 2016 First Round Pick, Soshnikov, Leivo, Hyman, Froese, Kapanen, Leipsic, Johnson, Boyes, Vesey*, or a vet UFA.

Rielly-Hunwick
Gardiner-Zaitsev*
Percy-Corrado/Harrington/Carrick/UFA
Corrado/Harrington/Carrick/UFA

Bernier/UFA or Trade acquisition
Sparks/Bibeau

There are a ton of possibilities of what could happen. I'm not going to speculate on which prospects aside from Marner & Nylander will be with the team next year as it could really be any of them.

This team would be a lot more exciting to watch (for me) than this years team. I've probably watched ten games all year, because I've been hoping for the team to lose so the only reason to tune in is to see Rielly, Kadri, JVR, and Gardiner (mainly Rielly). If Marner & Nylander are both on the team full-time next year, I would probably watch almost every game.

I think we could score more goals than people expect next year, but our D & Goaltending will be just atrocious. We really need to start adding good young D sooner rather than later if we don't want to end up like the Oilers.

Zaitsev is a new level in presumption. Not only has he not made the team in the fall, he hasn't signed with the team either.

I think he's more likely than any of our D prospects being in the top 4 next year; none of them are ready.

IMO it will be:

Rielly-Hunwick
Garinder-UFA
Percy-Harrington/Marincin/Corrado/Carrick/Loov/etc

By far the most likely UFA to fill that spot is Zaitsev simply because he's been linked to signing with us in the past, and analysts have said they expect him to sign here next year.

Just saying it as it is. We're bottom 3 for goals for I believe, aside from gardiner and rielly I don't know who else would play defence for a good team, and Bernier is definitely not a #1 goalie. Sparks and others have potential but we can't bank on anyone being a solution until they prove it.

If lou has any say at all he will build from the net out.

If i was a Leafs fan i'd expect him to make a splash. Don't think Leafs fans will like the cost but he will make a splash, Just as he has always done.

IMO Leafs are in very good shape, and have a ton of prospects and lots of draft picks coming up. There not going to be bad next year.

I also don't see Lou going after any big name forwards.

I really hope we make Lupul go away though. Michalek is also redundant and imo taking up a roster spot next season. Hope we get creative there as well.

Laich I think has something to give though in a limited role.

One of Kadri or Bozak needs to be gone as well. And I don't think our 2016 1st rounder will be on the roster regardless of whom we draft. It goes against the Leafs philosophy now and with so many young players looking for spots, I doubt the new kid jumps the line so to speak. I also hope we dump Bernier and grab a bridge goalie while we wait for one of Sparks/Bibeau or another goalie to emerge..

JVR - Stamkos - Marner
Komarov - Kadri - Soshnikov
Hyman - Nylander - Brown
Leipsic - Laich - Kapanen

Rielly - Hunwick
Gardiner - Zaitsev
Percy - Corrado

Not sure about NEED, but my ideal/ realistic hopes for a non-earth-shattering continuation of a gradually upward trending rebuild.

Lupul-buried or bought out
Bozak+ traded for Spurgeon, Tanev, or other mid 20's solid rh#3
Sign Zaitsev
Sign Neilsen
Re-sign Kadri

Top 9
Komarov-Kadri-xx
JVR-Nylander-xx
Michalek-Neilsen-xx
With both Komo and MM able to play either wing a lot of flexibility in the rookie comp to fill the spots with Leivo,Leipsic,Hyman, Marner, Soshnikov, Kapanen 2016 1st.

No dedicated 1st,2nd, 3rd but two pretty two way solid vet based matchup lines that could be used to somewhat shelter Nylander

4thline
Laich/Greening/Holland/Froese,

defense
Rielly-Spurgeon/Tanev
Gardiner-Zaitsev
xxx-Carrick
xxx

xxx filled with open comp of Harrington, Hunwick, Percy, Loov, Corrado
