If we go after Shattenkirk I'll be pissed.

Also, what's with Pierre praising a ref making a correct call in Washington? He acts like it was an act of valor. It's Washington in 2017, not Montreal is the 1970's.

Not to mention that it was one of the easiest overturns I've seen. Caps fans weren't even upset when the ref announced the goal counted, it was that obvious. Pierre is weird.

Why isn't Bonino in the box for getting punched in the face? I thought that's how it works in the playoffs.

Ovi shot gets Hainsey up high. Seems odd Ovi misses a shot that badly without it getting deflected.

So frustrating that the B's had such bad luck with injuries and suffered through such awful officiating vs. Ottawa.

The Rangers are such a paper tiger, as they have been for 20+ years.

The facial expressions on the Caps were that of a team completely perplexed and frustrated. I don't know that they fire Trotz after back to back President's Trophies, irrelevant as that prize may be. But right now they have no answers against Pitt.

As Bruins fans who have watched Holtby play indescribably well against Boston, it's odd seeing him lit up. I gave him the benefit of the doubt on Kessel's short side goal since, well, it's Kessel - an elite sniper.

But Guentzel had WAY too much to shoot at.

Shattenkirk has been a defensive liability in both games, in costly situations.

And I gotta hand it the Penguins. I know I'm supposed to despise them as a Bruins fan - but the main culprits are gone. Cooke, Neal, Orpik. And kudos to Mike Sullivan - no matter how big their lead, they kept their foot on the gas, sending multiple forecheckers.

I know both of these are getting way ahead, but - the Sens are a nice story, but if they meet Pitt in the ECF, Sullivan and that star-studded roster will solve Boucher's 1-3-1.

And getting ever further ahead, a McDavid vs. Crosby Final would be epic.

It fulfills me with joy seein the Capitals choke once again. Hopefully they fall apart this offseason and go back where they belong: in mediocrity.

Glad the Sens are killing the Rangers, as I hate the Rangers with a passion.

Can we just catapult the entire Penguins franchise and everyone involved with it to Pluto where they can return to irrelevance?

The Penguins approach is so smart, a good offense is your best defense. They realize that the strength of their team is their forwards who have great speed and quickness, so they attack non-stop. This takes the pressure off of their so so D especially with Latang out. You contrast that with the Rangers, another team who's strength lies in their forwards, they sit back and try to protect a lead with a shaky D against Ottawa, inviting trouble, a couple of lucky tips and the lead is gone. The Pens will squash Ottawa, the only question is if goes in 4, 5 or 6.

We just need to never lose sight of the fact that the Pens have never won a thing that can't be traced back to cheating or the lucky bounce of a ping pong ball.

Shattenkirk is an example of be careful what you ask for. Is some ways a version of a Dennis Wideman type player. Offensive upside and very suspect defence.

Odds of rebounding from two losses at home to start a series is pegged at 20% for teams that have found themselves in that position. That didn't stop the Bruins from defying the odds against the Habs though.

Fleury deserves a lot of credit for his performance. management must be thrilled with the potential for increasing his trade value as an option heading into the expansion draft.

Should the Caps lose is it the end of Ovi in Washington? Is he one step closer to pulling the chute for the KHL and the lure of the Olympics?

I don`t think it`s the end of Ovi in Washington but I would dare to say it`s the end of the Caps being one of the upper tier teams moving forward. They went all in this year, and while it ain`t over yet, when it is, that team will look drastically different next season and moving forward

Now, I haven`t a clue about their farm system in Hershey as far as if they are a stacked team with loads of good looking prospects or not which would help but how much is anyone`s guess

a ton of red and blue symbols on that list left to make decisions on

For someone who perennially leads the league/close to lead in scoring, is also perennially close to dead last in plus/minus. Not saying I'd say no, but it is a head scratcher.

He has been a minus player in 3 of his 12 seasons...and only once (2013-14) has he been anywhere close to being dead last...so not quite "perennially".

I highly doubt Ovi is leaving $10 mil per year behind and more years to add to his legacy just so he can play a couple weeks in an Olympics. I also doubt Washington would even think about moving him unless it was for a complete blockbuster of a trade. He fills seats and makes Washington a ton of money.

As for the Caps, they are playing a team who many think will win another Cup. It is some real crap to be the top seed and end up playing the defending Cup champions and elite team in the second round. Washington outplayed the Pens in game 1 and were outplaying them in game 2 until the wheels fell off. If they end up losing the series it will not be a typical second round loss for a top seed. I think this Caps team is pretty well built. No need for them to panic and do a large overhaul if they do not end up advancing.

That's easy for us to say as Bruins fans having won a cup and also having reached the finals recently. As a Caps fan or owner how many more playoff failures can they endure before they start moving some core pieces.

You start moving core pieces and you might not even be in the Cup discussion. That's the dilemma.

Have to know he took some heat for his 'criticism' of the overtime call versus the Bruins.

I really like both of these guys so I wouldn't feel any pain. I would be happy for them.

I don't want the Pens to win again...sick of them.

I feel the same way.

At this point I'm rooting for the remaining teams in this order.

1. Edmonton
2. St. Louis
3. Washington
4. Anaheim

1009. Ottawa
2459. Pittsburgh
211,379. NYR
4,870,000. Nashville

Rooting hardcore for Nashville. Big Josi fan + feel sorry about Fiala breaking his femur. Would be semi tough to see PK win a Cup, but since he left the Scabs my dislike for him is getting less and less... ;)

I think it would be great to see PK win it and bring it to the Montreal Childrens Hospital.
