Surprised a Canadian reporter had this first(or at least posted if here first), figured there'd already be discussion on it when I came in here. Mark Masters is on the ball.
Jordan greenery didn't get an invite? Hokum maybe next year.![]()

down to 24 already... how many more do they need to cut? 1?Too bad...was looking forward to seeing Bellows.
On the other hand, happy to see the lone potential Sabres prospect (Borgen) survived the 1st round of cuts.

1 cut depending on goaltending situation.
Opilka has been sick and I don't think he's traveling with team today over to Finland.
I guess there's a chance they only keep 2 goalies and go with 21 skaters. That's not been the norm in the past, always carry 3 goalies.

I think Boeser is gonna surprise a lot of people in the coming weeks
The u20s are basically irrelevant in the states except to a hardcore group of hockey fans. So if anybody is going to have it its a Canadian reporter.
Maybe a dumb question, why is Kyle Connor not on the roster?
yeah but I haven't seen Mark Masters or any Canadian reporter being the first on the American cuts before.
I'd expect there to be some American hockey reporter to say something first. Even if a Canadian guy if first they've never tweeted it out as soon as it happened before that's what was kinda surprising.
It's not like McMasters broke the news. USAH tweeted out the news first.
yeah but Masters had it almost immediately as well which was what I found odd, when I saw he tweeted it out I assumed it had been news for a little while and came here to see what people were saying(because people had been talking about having Bellows on the team on the last page), and realized it only just happened and the Canadian guys usually aren't on the American cuts right away.
What's are USA's weaknesses in world juniors?.
And how Matthews has recovered for his back injury?.
Some GFY highlights:
- 1st GF had like 70 seconds of zone time in the build-up, as UMass got hemmed-in, and then Schmaltz scored on this effort.
- Donato tried dangling his way to a goal just prior to GF2.
- Donato then changed and USA immediately re-entered the zone, with Milano spinning a backhand home for GF2.
- Milano one-timed a carrom of a Borgen dump-in for GF3.
- Milano also tried dangling his way through UMass, stuck with the puck, and got it to Dvorak who found the open White for GF4.
Like cagney mentioned, that line had a pretty strong game but I also would've liked to see more finish from White .. it's more of a nitpick than a criticism, as he had more than a few scoring chances, and that's only an issue in tighter games than this one, which wasn't remotely even. How'd White play?
Same old, same old, carrying over from NoDak. There was a bunch of possession, short passes, curls and hounding along the walls from that line. Prime example being GF1, as they cycled so long that at least one skater was able to change as they maintained and fought for possession. MacInnis was the one on the line throwing the most shots at the net though, much like White on the other, with most of the play running through Schmaltz. Schmaltz also had a good day at the faceoff dot too, FWIW.Woodhouse, since you clearly got to watch the game, how did the Schmaltz-Boeser duo look?
