How good is this year's roster ? Any chance they repeat success of U18 and get into semis ?

The experience of doing well at the u-18s recently, plus add Fiala, Meier and Rod etc, theres no reason to think they can't do well, especially on a larger ice surface considering how the Swiss are usually a good skating team.

The 97-class can easily be called on of the deepest in recent years.

From that group Damien Riat (Geneva-Servette), Roger Karrer (ZSC Lions), Fabian Haberstich (Langnau), Makai Holdener (Biel-Bienne) are making strong cases getting selected for the under-20.

One player to look out for is 99-born Nico Hischier. Probably one of the most talented players in the last years for Switzerland and he is a strong candidate to make the team as a double underager.

The main question is if we'll see Fiala, the Preds would have to release him.

I would like to see a roster like this:

Forwards:
Kevin Fiala (Milwaukee Admirals/ AHL)
Denis Malgin (ZSC Lions/ NLA)
Timo Meier (Halifax Mooseheads/ QMJHL)
Kay Schweri (Sherbrooke Phoenix/ QMJHL)
Auguste Impose(Québec Remparts/ QMJHL)
Noah Rod (Genève-Servette HC/ NLA)
Kris Schmidli (GCK Lions/ NLB)
Pius Suter (ZSC Lions/ NLA)
Nico Hischier (SC Bern/ NLA)
Damien Riat (Genève-Servette HC/ NLA)
Makai Holdener (EHC Biel/ NLA)
Johnny Kneubühler (Lausanne HC/ NLA)
Calvin Thürkauf (Kelowna Rockets/ WHL)
Timo Haussener (Guelph Storm/ OHL)

Defenders:
Edson Harlacher (Kloten Flyers/ NLA)
Simon Kindschi (HC Davos/ NLA)
Jonas Siegenthaler (ZSC Lions/ NLA)
Roger Karrer (GCK Lions/ NLB)
Misha Moor (Oshawa Generals/ OHL)
Andrea Glauser (Fribourg-Gottéron/ NLA)
Romain Chuard (Genève-Servette/ NLA)

Goalies:
A Goalie: Joren van Pottelberghe (Linköping HC/ SHL)
B Goalie: Gauthier Descloux (Genève-Servette HC/ NLA)

Roster for the first camp:

Torhüter (3):
Gauthier Descloux (Genève-Servette HC)
Joren Van Pottelberghe (Linköpings Hockey Club/SWE)
Ludovic Waeber (HC Fribourg Gottéron).

Verteidiger (8):
Tim Dubois (SC Bern)
Marco Forrer (EV Zug)
Andrea Glauser (HC Fribourg Gottéron)
Edson Harlacher (Kloten Flyers)
Fabian Heldner (HC Davos)
Roger Karrer (GCK Lions)
Simon Kindschi (HC Davos)
Jonas Siegenthaler (ZSC Lions).

Stürmer: (15):

Chris Egli (HC Davos)
Nico Hischier (SC Bern)
Auguste Impose (Quebec Remparts/QMJHL)
Tino Kessler (HC Davos)
Johnny Kneubühler (Lausanne HC)
Denis Malgin (ZSC Lions)
Timo Meier (Halifax Mooseheads/QMJHL)
Dario Meyer (Edmonton Oil Kings / WHL)
Julien Privet (SC Bern)
Damien Riat (Servette-Genève HC)
Noah Rod (Servette-Genève HC)
Kris Schmidli (GCK Lions)
Pius Suter (ZSC Lions)
Calvin Thürkauf (Kelowna Rockets / WHL)

No Kay Schweri , after being on the team last year? A little interesting. Also, any word on Fiala?

There is not much more information around for the junior teams than those rosters. Maybe Rafik knows more regarding Fiala.

Fiala better be going, Swiss have a good team but their group is tough, if Fiala goes that group will be even more fun.

I'm pretty sure the Fiala is obligated to come if he's invited because he's playing in the AHL, people have pointed this out for players like Nylander, and Rantanen, if their NHL team isn't bringing them up then they are going to be playing in this tournament, so Fiala should be lacing them up for Switzerland this winter.

I for one, am really excited to see Switzerland with a potent offense. Last year's goals for was pretty poor, and if this team can score I think they have a legitimate shot at getting a medal.

Sweden has an agreement with the NHL which is why Nylander has to come over. I'm not sure why Kapanen and Rantanen are obligated to go, but there isn't a blanket rule that covers everyone, it's possible he doesn't get released.

Who do you guys think will get the starter job? Descloux or van Pottelberghe?

That I didn't catch on to then. Well, there is still hope that he is loaned. It would be a great boon for the Swiss, and allow them to have a dangerous offense this year.
