He got a goal and two assists last year in one game against a very skilled Russian team. Two assists on a team he's never played with. How much more can he use his teammates?
Well if you watched the games, he carried the puck alone, he skated around the zone only using himself even when he gets into tight areas then he tried to deke himself out of problems.

He's not making the team and there is no point of arguing about him. He's a self-centred brat, the worst teammate anybody could have, and can ruin the locker room. Hockey Canada didn't invite him to the summer camp and the SSS this year, he's not making the team. Let's move on to better human beings.

He was at the summer camp this year.

Blackwood likely starter? McDonald has 3.47 gaa and .893 save %. Blackwood has 2.30 gaa and .931 save %. I know stats aren't everything but the difference is drastic and Blackwood is having an extremely good season.

Tell us how you really feel :sarcasm:

I wouldn't go this far, but I don't want him representing Canada in an overseas tournament. I just think there are players with better character that can be just as useful to the team.

Fabbri Mccann Virtanen (one can hope)
Dal Colle Strome Marner
Crouse Barzal Konecny
Perlini Point Beauvillier
Hawryluk

Sanheim Juulsen
Fleury Chychrun
Chabot Hicketts
Roy

Blackwood
MacDonald

Have you seen his interviews (claiming he was the best player in the draft)? The fact no one in Windsor had a positive thing to say about him on the way out? The fact he slipped in two drafts due to personality issues. The stories about his selfish act on the Marlies team when he played with McDavid due to being overshadowed? The kid brings this upon himself. Hockey Canada doesn't ignore you for nothing.

The same sentiments were echoed about Duclair. That turned out great for a lot of teams didn't it? Skill usually trumps everything.

Personally I've never been all that impressed with Ho-Sang, in terms of his on-ice abilities and performance. If you put aside the character issues (or whatever you want to call them) he'd probably get a camp invite and have a shot at making this roster, but he'd be far from a lock. There are simply better and more productive players that we can select when constructing our forward group. Add the character issues into the mix and he won't sniff this team (and rightfully so, IMO).

Last year I wanted him to make it and you said he wasn't a team player and had attitude problems inside the dressing room. Even though he had a goal and two assists in one game on a team full of players he'd never played with before. Yeah, not much of a team player. So get the heck outta here with this dangerous with the puck every single time crap. Where the hell were you last year?

I really have no idea what you're talking about, regardless the depth of lasts years team was much greater than this years on the wings that you could afford keeping a player like him off the team.

If you make one, count me in.

But it might be a bit early.

Yeah it usually starts around Dec.10th-15th.
But I'm juste to busy right now to manage one by myself, but I want to participate if someone is making one.

I really hope he has inside knowledge that the rest of us don't, because wow that's hateful.

I think Virtanen is likely to be released by the canucks for the World Juniors. He's been ok for the canucks, but hasn't made any kind of impact that's irreplaceable from a callup. McCann is less probable.

I think that 4 manitobans have realistic shots at making the team.

-Jayce hawryluk (would be oldest player in tournament; 01/01/96)
-Travis sanheim (former 1st rounder; potential top 4 Dman for canada)
-Nolan patrick (probable 1st overall pick in 2017; could go #2 in 2016 if eligible)
-Keegan kolesar (dark horse; has size and is putting up great #'s this year)

I haven't seen kolesar mentioned anywhere regarding the team but i wouldn't be surprised to see him invited to the main camp!!

No, he's not good enough to play as a 17 year old. He'll be a key next year though.

Patrick showed nothing great in The CAN-RUS series. He's still young and he'll get another look next year.
For Kolesar, I like his game a lot. Big guy with some skills and toughness, but I don't think he has realistic chances of being invite to the camp. First, HC will probably attribute his success to Barzal and second, I don't think he has the speed to match the best junior players in the world on a big ice.

Lol @ the people jumping on the Ho-Sang band-wagon now. It's a little late. "Ho-Sang is so dangerous, nobody is more dangerous". Yeah right, everybody was knocking this guy last year. He's too much of a self centred player, he has inconsistency issues and team Canada doesn't want a player that is only going to think about himself and hog the puck. Last year he was a selfish player that didn't want to pass and might try and do it all himself. And now he's the best play maker Canada has?

Last year was stacked with 95's, Ho-Sang didnt deserve to be anywhere near that team. I dont think he makes it, but his skill is undeniable and this year is a different situation than last year's.

Sanheim is definite and I think Hawryluk is a strong possibility. I hope they at least invite Patrick to camp, but I doubt they will as HC still has age hangups and Patrick hasn't dominated in the assessment exercises. Kolesar wasn't even invited to the SS, and barring a massive amount of injuries I can't imagine any player who wasn't at the super series getting as much as an invitation to camp.

Ho-Sang has talent. He's one of the best in recent years in stick-handling and speed. However, he's just now starting to use his teammates a bit and I have no idea if he's any better off ice. Do I think he deserves a shot at Canada's camp? Yes. Do I expect him to make it? Not easily. The WJC are a very team-first game and he hasn't proven he's a team-first guy...at this point.
