This is why I like Smoak and want him at 1st. Even if his bat is mediocre, he's going to save a lot of runs given how wild the left side of the Jays' infield can be on their throws.
as of right now Smoak has a .337 wOBA and a 117 wRC+, so he is at or just above average which is totally serviceable given his defensive prowess and the value it specifically holds for the Blue Jays
