It's spelled Jarmo. And if you dislike him because of the moves he's made or not made that's fine. That's great. But all I've ever seen from you on the subject is that he's a "damn Euro" and we need a Northwestern GM. That is an opinion that is based entirely on a xenophobic approach and I simply won't respect it.

It's 2015. Not 1915.

I like Yarmo.... and it's North American... Alaska is North Western..

#CBJ prospect Kerby Rychel was a scratch tonight for @TheFalconsAHL. Always interesting this time of year, but source says short-term injury

I don't agree with you all the time but you are here on the CBJ board every day.... me not so much....

Good work...

Ask about being a moderator....

Oh man that would be interesting.. I have a hard enough time moderating myself let alone this whole board. Thanks, but no thanks.

Anyway I'm assuming something happens tomorrow. Way too much smoke today

Cam for future ... I forgot.. considerations?

imho Markus Foligno from Buffalo far more better ( for team's consolidation) than anything from Boston

Id love to stay on topic but to some people everything thread is a bash Wennberg, Murray, Wiz, Jarmo or Richards and it crossed the line of being beyond stupid about 10miles back.
In terms of what the thread is about Im on the side of staying the course pretty much. Im really curious to know what Cam and Letestu would be looking for in deals. Cam hasnt done anything to earn a nice contract and like most im guessing Letestu wants some years so if the price is right im not sure why he wouldn't or shouldn't be signed. Arty might be the most interesting, it would be nice to keep him around for another year atleast until someone pushes him out. Wiz is like Anisimov in the fact he'd be good to keep around for awhile until guys step up but he should bring back a nice return and would be good salary wise. D would end up even younger though which is scary

I agree with what you say here. Unless the return was pretty darn good or the contract demands of Letestu and Cam were ridiculous I wouldn't mind seeing them all back next year because I'm not sure we have guys in waiting who are any better and may not be ready to be as good. I really don't think Letestu will be back and rumors are heavy that Cam won't either. We'll see soon.

My guess is Cam was asking for too much if they are looking to trade him after they had discussions with him on a new contract.

That's my guess too - I like Cam but I see him as a 2nd/3rd line player and he likely values himself as 2nd/1st line player. it's different for the older guys - they know what they are (so there isn't as much confusion on what they could be worth on open market), they sometimes have families that either like the curren situation or don't, and other time have other commitments (houses, country clubs - Nash is a member at Scioto, Wiz is a member of Muirfield Village). But for a young guy like Cam if he can go and get a $20M+ deal he needs to go do it (or whatever the number is).

If Cam gets a $20 million deal it'll will be for at least 6 years. :sarcasm:

He's an RFA so next deal will likely be determined by an arbitrator if he isn't traded. He's about a .5 ppg player for his career with a bit of a down year so far this season. I'd guess an arbitrator will award about 2.5 up to 3 if he finishes strong.

@Aportzline: Told #NYR are among teams to show interest in #CBJ Cam Atkinson. For Rangers, move may depend on if Mats Zuccarello is traded.

I'm not a fan of continuing to trade in division.

Maybe, but we probably have an idea of what he will be asking for on his next deal if he asked for a ton on a longer term deal now.

Candidly, Cam is fast, but he misses a lot of good scoring opportunities. It wouldn't break my heart to see him traded if we got got value out of him.

I agree. If Cam doesn't have to carry the puck into the o-zone, and if he doesn't have to play a cycle game is where Cam is best. He needs a lot of open ice. Once the D confronts him inside the blue line more often than not the puck is going the other way.

I hate to trade him or give up on him because he does have a good shot when the situation is right for him.

For what its worth. CBJ has weakness a RW and scoring talent and won't be a team that spends to the cap. A 7 mill cap hit but Columbus may only have to pay 3.5 of it makes it more attractive.

I honestly haven't followed his season and I know he has terrible numbers this season but the skill is obviously there.
