If Crouse played a full OHL season, he would have scored around 40 goals. Then no one would say "some offensive upside".

29 goals in 56 games is pretty good in his draft year.

I don't see how people can be happy taking a guy who is projected to be a second or third line player at #11 overall in on of the best drafts in a long time. We need pure offense. Someone with first line potential. We can take a riskier pick with our quality depth. He's going back to juniors and he'll continue to put up less than exciting numbers but has all the intangibles.

I like the pick. Not an elite player but can be a Lucic type of player.

A lot of people do think Crouse has 1st line potential. What skill does Rantanan have that Crouse doesn't that makes Rantanant more of a 1st line potential guy?

From what I've read most think he's going to be a second line guy and could slot anywhere in the lineup. His question mark is offensive potential. We needed a scoring winger. I don't see how Crouse addresses that.

He really doesn't. They must have their eye on another player.

Espescially on a defensive team.

I'm glad we drafted Crouse, I wanted Rantanen, but Crouse will be really good.
