Are there any concerns about jarmo's ability to find defensive talent? I can see a proven and very high "hit" rate for offensive talent both here and at St. Louis but I don't recall very much defensive talent.

For myself I do not ever recall a personnel in college or pro sports who I feel so confident in his ability to draft the best guy at the time of the pick. I would say my hope is that the draft goes exactly as he hopes it does.

Jarmo was Director of Scouting 2002 -2010. Here's a list of NHLers taken in those drafts (D):

David Runblad (1st)
Alex Pietrangelo (1st)
Ian Cole (2nd)
Erik Johnson (1st)
Nikita Nikitin (5th)
Roman Polak (6th)

That's out of 22 D taken (out of 78 picks). Of those 22, only 3 were taken in the second round or higher (Shawn Belle - 1st, Scott Jackson and Brent Ponich - 2nd).

Boone was drafted in 2011.

2011-2012:
OHL - 43gp, 22g, 27a, 49pts, 59pim, +12
AHL - 5gp, 1g, 0a, 1pt, 2pim, -1

2012-2013:
OHL - 56gp, 45g, 37a, 82pts, 58pim, +23
AHL - 5gp, 3g, 1a, 4pts, 0pim, +1

Kerby was drafted in 2013.

2013-2014:
OHL - 58gp, 34g, 56a, 90pts, 43pim, +41

2014-2015:
AHL - 51gp, 12g, 21a, 33pts, 43pim, +7
NHL - 5gp, 0g, 3a, 3pts, 2pim, +3

My bad, I thought Boone was with us the second year. I forgot he played another entire season of Junior. Still after that last year he was in junior, he raised his stock a whole lot. Perhaps not as much difference between him and Rychel as I was thinking.

Rychel is the better player and has done better in his 2 years after the draft compared to Jenner. That doesn't mean he will end up better (though I think he will in the right situation). Having said that, I don't think he will be more valuable than Jenner is/will be.
