GDT: 2015 Draft Day - Los Angeles Kings

Not really. Reinhart didn't develop quite as expected (personally I never liked the pick) and they got 2 high picks for a guy who was being squeezed out the great young D corps they have. They did good on this deal, IMO.

And of course Detroit gets a draft favourite of mine. Happens every freaking year.

If you had the 4th would you trade it for the 16th and an early 2nd? I wouldn't let alone for picks 3 years later. Just bad asset management.

Doesn't matter if you have a few other guys that project as mid/bottom-pairing defensemen ready.

Nice scouting report on the First round and the picks...some really good details on the skill set and style of each player drafted. Good read

Looks like the Jets got a real winner in Roslovic

25. Winnipeg Jets - RW Jack Roslovic. We’ve almost run out of compliments to describe how impressed we are with his game. Great offensive instincts. Extremely quick hands. An instinctive finisher who is deadly from the circles in - just buries his chances. Shifty with the puck and never afraid to try new moves. Constantly moves his feet down low to slide off opposing defenders in traffic and gets open in prime scoring areas. Has the patience to wait out goalies and a great release. Anticipates really well, always around the puck. Light on his edges. Creates turnovers off a determined, persistent forecheck and steals pucks on backcheck. Plays with passion and intensity, never takes a shift off. Effective in heavy traffic - elusive and tough to contain. Plays give-and-go, giving the puck up and darting to open ice. Gives and receives passes well at top gear. Makes creative saucers through traffic - unselfish and just makes plays all the time.

The Kings have been money in the late first and second round in the past, who do we want this year with our first pick?

Oliver Kylington
Vince Dunn
Nicolas Meloche
Jansen Harkins
Mitch Vande Sompel
Filip Chlapik
Jeremy Bracco
Daniel Sprong
Erik Cernak
Matej Tomek
Nikita Koroseltsev

Those are names I'd look at for Kings pick.

Would be an absolute steal if the Kings could get him to use his team mates more. Said to have top 5 talent & skill.

Has great skill. I've heard he BOMBED several interviews where teams put him on "don't draft" list. A bit selfish but with a mid 2nd to get that skill and a veteran team like LA yeah you take that chance, IMO. I'd love that pick at 43.

That's the same exact feed as the one on NHL.com, no?

Yeah I could see that (obviously Jets are really affiliated with NHL haha). Didn't know I'm not on NHL site. Either way we get a good feed then, just wanted to let everyone get a good feed haha.

Did NJD take a timeout?

San Jose Shark's pick of Jeremy Roy is a huge Drew Doughty fan and mirrors his game after him. Too bad we couldn't land that kid since he's a very good prospect that fell to the Sharks in the second round.

Who are we targeting here at 43? I can't imagine who would wake up at 7 AM on the west coast to watch this thing lol

ANA trades Etem and 41 to NYR for Carl Hagelin and two picks.

From Friedman. Wow. That's big.

Trying to counter our Lucic move. :sarcasm:

I don't like this trade for Anaheim. Makes them even more of a "regular season" team.
