The Return of a Legend
That's a bit of a distortion of what Wotherspoon said:
Honestly, for the game Kylington plays, he needs confidence, but for the game Wotherspoon plays, simplcity can be very effective. One is a Hjalmarsson type and the other a Leddy type. You don't want Hjalmarsson thinking he can take 4 guys on at once, and you don't want Leddy just dumping the puck in every opportunity. Both players' mentality, to me, are fine and a part of what makes a good team.
He has the ceiling to be the second best or even tied for best player among all our prospects, but is a long ways away from realizing it. Right now besides Bennett I have the three goaltenders, Jankowski, and Hickey ahead of him as I think their ceilings are all very high themselves. But man, a draft+1 year of two-way consistency, even in CHL, would probably get that Oliver Kylington hype train to maglev speeds.
The distortion you quoted Wotherspoon as saying, actually backs up exactly what Hartley said. I take Tspoons comments as he got a talking to from Hartley saying you need to step up and set your goals higher than just being a bottom pairing guy. His comments that you quoted are reflective of that and essentially mirror what Hartley wants him to do.
I don't disagree with your assessment of their ceilings and who they are, but it's still a difference of mentalities. One thinks he is going to be great, the other is hoping to be an NHL regular. The best players in any sport have Kylingtons confidence.
To your last paragraph, solid reasoning and hard to argue. I'm just personally that high on Oliver right now but I really like all the players you listed a lot.
