Ladd, Boedkker, Hamhuis, Eriksson I'd be okay with. The others are...we have better in the org imo. And certainly not Kempe for ANY of those rentals.

I don't think Kempe is going anywhere...nor should he, esp for a rental, which doesn't guarantee anything, not a deep run or a Cup. Hardest trophy to win for a reason and especially at the cost of continuing to consume your youth.

From Friedman on his Reddit AMA today:

"Lombardi identifies people he wants and gets them. I like the way he does business. He really challenges you when you ask him questions, too.

I see them getting a F and a D. And he likes impact. He could make the biggest deal."

Elliotte Friedman seems to think that Dean Lombardi will make a big splash. From his Reddit AMA today:

Q: Who is the one team that you think makes a splash, that isn't as reported as a big team to make one?

A: LA, maybe. Lombardi dreams big.

Whoops, beaten by a minute.

I forsee a Trouba/Ladd mega deal :yo::yo::yo:

I'm starting to get excited for deadline.

In order to have any hope of resigning Trouba next year cap space needs to be cleared up in the deal.

Of course Trouba being an RFA could be flipped to EDM after the playoffs run this year for something like their first round pick. :naughty:

you mean 2017 1st top 5 protected...then maybe I could see edmonton doing it.

I suspect we won't see an actual move until nearer the deadline as sellers drum up interest based on desperation--SJ has made a move, Anaheim will soon too; holding on just pumps up the value against DL.

I can't see a world in which DL is one-upped by Wilson and Murray (not because Murray is bad, but because realizes we have to do something pretty big to stay on top of the heap).

RNH/McDavid/Draisaitl/Matthews... they'd trade that pick for a potential #1 RHD... aren't a lot of options to fill that hole... they don't have anyone in the pipeline.

You'd think the Oilers would have a better pipeline....

Dan Hamhuis is one of the few that I want. Really like his upside especially in LA's system. Plus he's played on the big stage.

Hamhuis - Doughty
Muzzin - Schenn
Martinez - McBain

Gravel

I highly doubt Eriksson gets traded. The Bruins are having a great year and will do damage in the playoffs.

Would be nice to get some deadline additions who aren't pure rentals like Sekera was. Try to find another deal like the Carter or Williams who were locked up and not impending UFAs.

do to NDP, Price of crude, and Quebec the Pipeline in Alberta is dry

Calgary real estate is ridiculous right now. If I won the Powerball I'd have been on the first flight to Calgary to buy a bunch of houses.

Still a good time to pick up long term properties; 15-30 year investments. It'll continue to dip, but in the coming years oil will start going up. Multiple dwellings are preferred because it's easier to absorb vacancies when the market is weak like it is right now and will continue to be for the immediate future.

If you get positive cash flow from day one and plan on owning it for a long time frame, it doesn't really matter if dips a little more. It's not like Phoenix or Vegas circa 2008.

well my home may be on the market soon (looking at moving to chetermere).

Now if you really want investments from a powerball you would buy lakeside in chestermere. Homes that used to be way north of $1M are much less now.

I have no rhyme or reason for thinking this but I think Brown is a goner at the TDL

We're still talking about Dean Lombardi. Not when the Kings are going for another Cup this season. After the season, especially if they don't win it this year, I guess maybe. If Lombardi can somehow get someone to take a guy who's production is down, cap hit is high, and is on the wrong side of 31.

It's just still Lombardi. It's loyalty. It's the 2 time Cup winning captain. It's Jeter. It's the Yankees. It's the room. He's still that guy. No matter what happened with Richards, he's still that guy.
