I think we're done.

Kredier-Stepan-Nash
Miller-Brassard-Zuccarello
Etem-Hayes-Stalberg
Lindberg-Moore-Fast

Who's coming out to add another forward?

I don't really worry much about that. Some had Malone and Lombardi penciled into rosters at the open of training camp last year. Competition will drive some players out. Who is coming out? The guy that plays the worst.

Miller and Etem are untouchable. We've invested too much. I doubt we put a Brad Boyes on the 4th line. That leaves Stalberg.

I'd hate to leave a wonderful possession player out of the lineup for a highly-skilled fringe player. Apparently we haven't learned after Zherdev, Lisin, Frolov, and Christensen.

I wonder who will be this years late addition in late August/early Sept like what we usually do the past handful of seasons. Who out there is worth the look? BTW kinda off topic but are there any updates on Mike Richards?

The guy that plays the worst will play every game this year (Glass)

Is there even a cup favorite this year?

Chicago shipped off too many guys. Too many new faces. It takes time gel. Every cup they win they sell off immediately after. Takes a few years to come back from it.

LA is done, in my book. Lost too many key pieces. Voynov, Sekera, stoll, Williams, even their good back up that took a lot of pressure off of Quick.

Anaheim becomes the clear favorite from the West, but they still lack a goalie.

From the east. Detroit took a step back. Losing Babcock will hurt. Still not a dominant goalie. Boston took a step back. Montreal is meh. Tampa maybe, but they were really fortunate with not sustaining any injuries that had guys sitting.

The Isles still have a suspect defense, goalie, and coach. CBJ improved but defense and Bobs playoff performing is going to sink them. Pens got even more lopsided. Washington got better on paper, but I think Ward, Brouwer, and Fehr fit that system so much better than Williams and Oshie. And they lost Green, who was getting worse, but still a dangerous presence on their power play.

Leaves the Rangers. Keeping Nash makes more sense now. But they have a lot of rookie "ifs". They kept nash to give him one more opportunity to establish himself as a star. Lead this team to a cup. I think they're gonna see which of Etem and Miller thrives. The one that doesn't will be traded with Staal for Nash's help. Staal will go where Eric and Jordan plan to go. They'll all be together. I think Toronto. Staal and Etem for JVR and a pick? Makes sense to me.

This is the Rangers year. This year. It is wide open. Really. It is.

General rule of thumb:

Don't rule out the two teams that have alternated Stanley Cup titles for the past 5 seasons

Technically Boston is in there after the Hawks first of three Cups. After that it has alternated Hawks and Kings.

Stalberg sucks, I don't care what his geek stats say about him. He split last season in the AHL and Nashville a team starving for wingers. And the season prior he put up 18 points in 70 games. I guess he's an upgrade over Glass but we all know this stubborn coach won't take Glass out.

AV scratched Stempniak, Sheppard, in a game 7, etc for Glass, why should anyone expect him to not scratch Stalberg or Lindberg in favor of Glass as well?

Stempniak, Sheppard, Fast, Miller, even Hayes were scratched for Glass at times last year. And people think Oscar Lindberg and Stalberg are gonna be the ones to knock him out of the lineup?

The Isles defense is underrated. I think the Isles, us, and Tampa are the teams to beat in the east this year.

I'd say the Caps, but they're just gonna lose in round 2.

I'd have Isles a notch below us.

Rangers/Tampa - tier 1
Montreal/Isles/Jackets/Caps - tier 2

And a rebuilding team would want a 28 year old defenseman with a big contract for their rebuild why? And Staal would waive for Toronto why?

Because you're only supposed to take your team's needs into account. Also if you think Kessel is bad defensively...you haven't seen anything until you watch JVR.

He's not playing on the Rangers this year

no room for him. signing of stalberg spelled the end

Just like bringing in Sheppard spelled the end for Glass.

Glass is going to be here for the duration of his contract as long as AV is still alive. People need to just deal with it.
