Somebody apparently didn't get the joke. :)

apparently not...but then again those guys never see the humor in anything.

And upon further review I now get that you were playing off of DSL's comment that as soon as the whipping boy has a modicum of success anywhere ...well played- sorry I didn't get it.

I was at the opposite end of the spectrum - I got the joke, but didn't know (didn't believe) that Umby actually had scored 2 goals against Arizona last week!!!! Had to look it up!

I'm still the only one that doesn't mind CMac and what he brings.

Oh well.

Think he got a raw deal rushing back from the concussion. But the way Forsberg is playing for Springy, he might get pushed out anyway.

Forsberg has been playing well, but I'm tentative to just give him a 1 way contract as a backup NHL goaltender and just hoping that Bob doesn't get injured for the 3rd straight year and that he's ready to handle it. Granted, we were a mess back when he started.. But, he had a very bad game against Tampa Bay. Of course, I didn't like the last two years of 1 way NHL contracts for McElhinney. We'd be transitioning to a lesser proven "prospect" goalie as a backup, very limited playing time (of course I don't know the in's and out's of goalie development), and we have no idea how he would handle the very sporadic playing time he would get up here. I like the way Forsberg has grown, but I'd probably sign a higher quality backup to a 1 year deal if possible or roll with McElhinney once again.

I'm with you, I think he's been a very serviceable backup, had some rough games after the injury but the last 2 seasons, he's been as good as any backup could be expected. Look at Dallas' backup last night, his stats are terrible and they are a very good team.
