Kempe is really elevating his game here in the playoffs, the guy is a madman, anyone questioning his status as a prospect is missing out, the raw tools are just amazing, he's gonna be an NHLer, his ultimate ceiling is the question...he could maybe crap out as a many-tools 3rd liner Cogliano type, or he could be Kopitar. Honestly. It's hard to say.

Mersch is a beast, really brings a dynamic element around the net. But his skating makes Dwight King look like Nathan MacKinnon... at least that was my impression after his call up earlier this season. Hopefully his strengths are stronger than his flaws.

No, I agree. He'll never be fast, but in the AHL, he is decisive; not so much in his callup at the NHL level which is what made him look slower than he really is, I think.

Sad he'll probably gone but I think he'd really thrive with a guy like Trevor Lewis who can skate and lug the puck into the zone because once there Mersch is an animal

Is there any online stream options? Legal I mean. Not sure if these games are broadcast at all.

The Gulls' broadcast can be gotten from either mighty1090.com (Probably on ESPN1700 for games during Padres games like Saturday), or through the Android "Mighty 1090" app. Be warned, the Gulls broadcaster is a shouter and homer :)

And my god Dowd just made a beauty passing play on the 2nd goal, there has to be video somewhere, whole arena just exploded

Kempe is looking Kempe did last year in the playoffs. I saw many of those games live and was thinking "Hoy cow. We just drafted a Jeff Carter." But, then he had disappointing regular season. But, has turned it back on for the playoffs. So, that's concerning a bit. But the skill is there. It's something Stothers has mentioned.

I'm still convinced Mike Amadio is Mike Richards.

He does resemble him a bit physically, although Amadio is taller. The part of his game that is similar is he is a very smart player on the ice, he seems to make good reads ahead of the play, has good puck anticipation and good offensive instincts. Right now, Amadio is over matched in the face-off circle.

Amadio clearly has a harder wrist shot than Richards, from what I have seen so far for shear power, Amadio is up there with Brodzinski and Kempe with the power of their wrist shot, something the Kings have lacked with the big club. Probably the reason he potted 50 goals.

In the games he has played so far, Amadio is quite frankly, timid. He has shied away from contact, and has not been going hands on much at all, even in scrums. He just stands there. I can't imagine that he completely lacks a physical game, but so far it's non-existent. Now he is 19, and has barely played any pro games, but Bizz needs to take him aside for a little chat. At the end of game 1 in the Gulls series, Bailey took a run at Raine with 1 second left in the game along the boards with the game already decided. While they were mixing it up, another Gulls player came up to Raine from behind and grabbed him along the face shield, pulling him back off balance. While this was happening, Amadio was standing right next to Raine and did nothing to protect or help his teammate. He just let them both gang up on Raine until the linesman quickly broke it up. That is not okay. It's not like Amadio has not played hockey before. This is not the first time I have seen this in his few games. Kid needs to step up the gumption factor and show us what he's got.

1-0 Gulls after one. Early PP goal from Ritchie, and despite a hail of rubber, none of the Reign's 17 SOG made it past Hackett - though I'm still not sure how one didn't score. Lots of pushing and shoving after the whistles, BizNasty appears ready to go sometime tonight.

SO many chances and nothing to show for it.

Shots 25-15, down 1-0. And its sounded like dangerous chances...

Still 1-0 after two. Lots of special teams play for both teams, giving the period a stop-start quality the first didn't have. Herr left the game very late in the 2nd, unable to put weight on his right leg after a charge from Wagner that even my homer self feels lucky wasn't called a five and a game. As RJ said, many chances for the Reign, and a combination of luck and Hackett playing above his head have kept any of them from converting. Shots were 9-8 Reign in the period.

Yeah someone had mentioned it was a knee but I have a hard time calling it anything but a charge

Looks like Auger won it in OT. Can anyone provide additional details?

The Reign's size just wore down the Gulls. The last 10 minutes of regulation, and all of OT were pretty much as Elsten said, a holding action against the Reign onslaught. You can see the replay above.
