Don't know if anyone saw this but
"In addition to their poor performance, injuries plagued the BC bench going into Tuesday’s game. Consummate starting goalie Thatcher Demko was benched with a fever, and lead-defender Steve Santini has been sidelined for the remainder of the season’s first half after wrist surgery on Oct. 28. His return is tentatively slated for BC’s matchup against Michigan on Dec. 13., according to York."

Could Santini be back in time for the world juniors?

Posted in the prospect thread but here it is. I wonder if Santini could be back for the world juniors.

That would be a big deal. It'd go a ways toward solidifying that D.

if attitude wasnt a potential issue with him, would Deangelo make it?

He'd be a shoo-in, their #1.

Ive heard he's made strides, hopefully they give him a look. He's an immense talent, and I think if he can keep his cool, he will be a huge asset. I'd love to see him on the PP with Eichel and Milano. Real firepower.

Encouraging news

Justin Bailey named OHL player of the week. He's now top-10 in OHL scoring and having a great season. I have to imagine he's earned himself an invite to camp in December 2014, notwithstanding the fact that he was not invited to the WJEC this past summer (but was invited in 2013).

What about Tommy Vannelli's chances at making the team? Dominant D in the the dub

Oh at least. I see him making the team as a fourth line guy.

i disagree, im new to the forum as a poster but in comparison to the ufa team i feel like up front we have a way, way stronger team. D is not as good, santini hurts but theyre strong players out there and could make the team on the back end to close the gap or make them better. demko vs gibson is easily in gibsons favor, but its only a tourny, goalies get hot.

The Americans are really coming on. They won it a couple years ago, they always ice a team that can skate like heck and unlike the European teams they hit. Which can throw Canada off its game. But the past couple of years they've had some really solid goaltending and D. Now that they have Eichel they're going and Bailey they're going to be veen more dangerous. They'll probably beat Canada. :help:

Cole Cassels with a 10 game suspension, which means he would miss the first three games of the tournament if selected. I can't imagine he'll even be considered anymore. Although, I would have dropped him for playing for Canada in the SSS before the suspension anyway.

I know it's a slim slim chance but has anyone considered Jimmy Lodge?
Recently traded to the Steelheads

Any chance Bailey makes it?

I think he's definitely earned himself a viewing at the December camp. Whether or not he makes the team will be up to how he does there. It's an extremely strong group of forwards they can choose from.

It's probably too late for him to really get his name in the mix given the depth of the forward group.

Cole Cassels can't be blamed for choosing Canada. He spent his early childhood growing up in Vancouver and his dad is Canadian. The only reason he's even in the discussion for the U.S. team is because his dad signed with Columbus at the end of his career.

Seems like it will be a pretty young team this year, or atleast a team that won't have alot of returning players.

Where did I blame him? He's certainly justified in pursuing either national team. I just don't think USAH needs to waste their time on a kid who accepted an invite from USAH this summer but turned around to accept an invite from HC for the SSS. He's obviously a very good player but he'd be in a tough fight to make Team USA anyway and I'd rather they choose another very good player over him that's dying to play for Team USA instead, especially given the amount of talent USAH can choose from up front this go around.

He's in the discussion because he was born in Connecticut while his dad played for Hartford. Both of his parents are Canadian. He'd be eligible for Team USA regardless of where his dad settled.
