I'll take young (ish) skill players over NHL plugs for this tourney any day.
Amen to that

Sounds like Todd Richards (Columbus head coach) will helm the team based on reports from their beat write Aaron Portzline and Kevin Allen of USA Today.
Hopefully that will help get a few of the Blue Jackets on board that haven't declined like Atkinson and Dubinsky.
Atkinson is a maybe-right?
Atkinson is a maybe-right?
we're in some trouble.
Last I saw, correct. Usually the "maybes" never seem to end up playing for Team USA but I have hope on Atkinson as he'd likely play a top role at forward, he's signed to a contract and he has no kids!![]()
Arent they all maybes?? Hahaha
This is like getting invited to a party and waiting to see of any other cool kids are going to show up before confirming...once a top playet or two says yes early we usually get a decent crowd to follow...after seeing all these kids I have a bad feeling that top talent isnt going to be coming....notnlike it really ever does...hahaha
Brandon Dubinsky said no. Sigh.
Next best thing: Pat Eaves. If Todd Richards is the coach it's pretty interesting so many Jackets are saying no. Coincidence?
@smitchcd
#CBJ Brandon Dubinsky said he will not play for the U.S. at WC. Rest, recovery, strengthing the focus following injury-plagued season.
@smitchcd
Dubinsky made decision before he knew Todd Richards would be coaching U.S.. Said he pondered a bit more after he found out, but won't play.
any interest in ahlers holmstrom (Cha), gostisbehere (lhv), brown (cha), alt (lhv), mccabe (rch)?
Guys like Holmstrom, Brown and Alt shouldn't and won't even be considered.
Gostisbehere would be on the team but he's injured and out for the year. I could see McCabe getting interest again as he played in last year's tournament.
I know it is unlikely and most will view it as me being a Wings fan. But I see no reason Dylan Larkin shouldn't get called into camp as well. At least he should be in the discussion. Eichel's play might be overshadowing him like it did most of his USMNTDP career. However, Larkin is having an amazing freshman season. He plays a strong two-way game, was dynamite in his last National team tournament and brings loads of speed.
It depends on who is available, but I think taking both of USA's stud freshman at the NCAA level wouldn't be a terrible idea.
Are any of these games on TV in the states this year?
