Why wouldn't NHL Network pick this up? Or USA or CNBC? That's crazy to show the whole tournament and not show USA v. Russia for a chance to go to the gold medal!

NHLN doesn't own the rights. And the ratings for the world championships don 't justify overflow coverage vs the Stanley Cup, Preakness, and Premier League

Who was your "suprise player" for the US in this years tournament ?

A player you might not have known much about but like what he's done this tournament. Could be a player that you just might not have cared for before and questioned why he was on the team. Could be that his play was just suprisingly good or played just above expectations.

Connor Murphy is the player that I have liked quite a bit in this tourney. Steady eddy and I haven't really seen much, haven't watched a ton of Arizona games, of him since the 2013 WJC. I think Murphy is going to develop into a real good NHL defenseman.

Of course Hellebuyck has been outstanding as well!

I was hesitant with the Larkin selection but he is outstanding

Even our goalie with turrets is better than their goalie.

All I can see is a goalie with these on his shoulders..

Some of the regional Comcast Sportnets claim they'll be carrying it live. The only three that have it in their schedule are Northwest, Philly, and California.

American fans are quickly learning what Winnipeg Jet fans (but not the rest of Canadian and US media) already know - Connor Hellebuyck is awesome! Best kept goalie prospect secret in the NHL. All he does is dominate at every level he plays. He will be an all-star for the Jets in just a couple years. Obviously Team USA brass already knew this last year and brought him over to last years IIHF tournament to groom him for this year and the future. Enjoy his outstanding abilities...

Bumping cause I still don't get it

To play in this tournament? Basically you have to be available (regular team's season is over, and they allow you to play) and willing to play. If you're wondering why so many top-end Americans are available but not on the team it's because they weren't willing to play.

Valiant effort by this group. They played their hearts out when not many believed they had a chance. No shame in having a shot at bronze. Hellebuyck, Jones, Brock Nelson will have a special place in my heart.

One last thing: **** Vesey

Oh well still a solid tournament for this team.

They needed the first goal today. They had many chances to get it but Bobrovsky was on his game. The first 40 minutes were pretty even but I thought Team USA carried more of the play and had the Russians frustrated. Had they been able to score, I think it would have broken the Russians.

All things considered, it's still been a success so far but they need to finish strong with the bronze. A bounce or two their way today and they would be playing for gold.

Kept saying to myself that the US better start finishing there chances because there is a lot of talent on the Russian team and Hellebuyck can't hold the fort by himself.

Having said I am still happy with th US performance without top end NHL talent coming over. Good experience for the young US talent coming up. Kids played hard all tournament.

Beyond proud of the players who represented the US with such pride!!!

The others who don't have a good excuse simply aren't worth talking about.

This team has a lot to be proud of.

Yeah but honestly you need something to go right for us there. This was close to the full Russian national team. Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, Malkin, Tarasenko, Bobrovsky...... I mean our best guy was Justin Faulk and a host of college kids. Our goalie isn't even an NHL starter. This was a great showing though regardless by this group.
