After having put all players on the line ... i was asking myself if Fust is the man of the situation.

The team doesn't have the right spirit it seems ... (not speaking about the frustration ... that is normal ... but then you make something out of it because this is energy ... but they seem lethargic by motments.

i don't know ... maybe i am just frustrated as well.

I think the frustration itself is also an issue. You can't be that "hot headed". Especially when you look at our boxplay. Stop taking stupid penalties!

Disappointed for you guys. Always cheer for the Swiss, sucks that you guys got 4 points and still finished last in your pool :(

It seems you have to accept that you can not be good every year. When a nation does not have enough depth to produce a whole team of good prospects year by year the variations are big.

Yet still there was so much skill especially among the forwards on that team, I hope the guys are really unhappy with their effort as a team. The team also needs to question the way leaders like Fiala performed. He produced somewhat but did not play a style that supports team effort and team spirit IMO, such a puck hog sometimes. He is 18 and I hope he matures and learns to accept that he is not the only guy on a hockey team that knows how to play good hockey. Meier let teammates profit more from his abilities IMO.

This result is clearly a let down, then again a (un-)successful WJC is pretty irrelevant to the further career of those players, they will go their way regardless.

Hope next years boys play smarter and get more clutch goaltending again.

Far too often the Swiss send teams that underachieve both collectively and individually. Aebischer gave them their best result many moons ago and then Niederrieter and Conz got them an upset of Russia. So many times the Swiss bring a talented team and flop. I am a fan of Swiss hockey but their players are still getting drafted too high in my opinon. Not enough of them pan out. Hopefully Fiala will. He seems to have lots of game but so did the Swiss miss, Bartschi, Romy , Ramholt and many others. The list goes on and on.

hopefully they get their game together for the relegation round. The coaching staff and players should not be allowed back in the country if they go down.

I love Fiala's game, but I almost feel like he detracts from Switzerland's identity as a hard-nosed defensive team.

This is Switzerland's most talented team, but I think it's been one of their most disappointing tournaments as well. Fiala has breathtaking skill, and I'm not blaming him for Switzerland's shortcomings. They were always going to be a longshot in the tournament, but I feel like they leaned on him a little too hard, and sorta lost their identity along the way.

But this is the kind of growing pains an emerging Country goes through. Switzerland has a bright future, and I'm ecstatic to have watched the emergence of their hockey program.
