If only he can stay forever under 20 and continue his unreal exploits.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that just thinks of Benjamin Conz every year when this tournament arrives for Switzerland lol.

Yet he's currently playing on a struggling team who's bound to make the play-out and he's nowhere close to one of the best goalie in the NLA. Obviously he had ONE great WJC but now he's everything but a great netminder.
 
Expect Fiala to enter beast mode. He has been held back this season by the coaches focus on defensive responsibility. The WJC will be a nice break for him.
 
Well, so what about Mirco Mueller?

The Swiss will really be missing Mirco Mueller this year who made the San Jose Sharks out of camp and will not join the team.

I heard a lot of rumours that SJS will let him play in WJC if he wants and if that's true I think he'll go there, he's not playing big minutes in SJS and he's being scratched many times... What are your opinions? Should I take risk and pick him in my fantasy pool? :laugh:

Yep, if no Shark d-men gets injured by the end of the week, he'll most likely join the team in Toronto.

I took him with my 7th round pick hoping he goes. At that point the difference between a Dman picked then and as a replacement at the end of the draft is almost negligible so I'd say it's worth the risk.

I posted the article before rumours of him joining were out. I have no privileges to change that!

At that time it looked like he was staying put.
 
Decision on Müller should be made in the next few days. That would be a huge boost for the team.

Overall it's a very balanced team with great talent on the blueline but also in the offence, probably one of the best (if not the best) team Switzerland ever brought to a WJC. Goalkeepers are a little bit inexperienced, we'll see how this works out.
 
Considering the Swiss aren't in Canada's pool, this team has a whole lot of adopted fans in Guelph!

Hoping Suter and Baltisberger have great tournaments!
 
With Noah Rod there is a second Shark-prospect member of the team.

Offensive D-men, of course Müller, also Rathgeb, maybe Karrer.
