Would be fuming if I were Olaf, Danes taking som lazy, stupid penalties.. Ehlers needs to use his linemates more.

I really don't like Mads Ellers game! He really frustrates me, unintelligent and sloppy game, and I Think ive seen him get 3-4 great passes onto his stick With an open net on at least two and him not being able to finish...

lack of leadership by ehlers and eller. Sørensen was by far the best player of the game. 60 saves...yes I said 60!
very proud of the team. defended pretty well against a much better team, great goalie performance and good speed on the offence. Olaf will tear his star players a new one. Let te rest of the team down.

overall this was a massive confidence boost no matter the other loss

Both agree and disagree! Great performance by George! But our D Was Way to open. Our star players Cost this game. Ehlers With his hogging the puck and stupid penalties and Eller With his dumb penalties and overall horrible decissions! They really did let the team down.

Im still a bit annoyed With Them allowing 64sog. It's not ok!

Ya, it really looked like Ehlers was trying to do way too much by himself. Amazing performance by Sørensen, but he never should have had to face that many shots, they set a record for most shots faced at that tournament, I believe

64 SOGs is ofcourse not okay, but I think we played well at times in terms of not allowing too many clear cut chances, but we were awful in the second. Im such an ehlers fanboy usually but that also means that I will come down hard on him and he simply can't be this one way oriented as he was yesterday...One of the penalties were maybe a bit unlucky because the stick broke but he was undisciplined in the end. And he needs to stop complaining to refs. Especially at international competition...He already been thrown out of two games this season for that at halifax.
Ehlers need to use his team mates such more. He had good chemistry with Bjorkstrand but he needs to pass the puck back to him more.
Eller was inconsistent. I liked his play in the first but he was bad later in the game.

Agree all around. Ehlers needs to work on his two way game instead of just hovering around the blue line watching the rest of the team defend, and waiting on the puck, and he needs to pass the puck more.
If Sørensen wasn't midget sized, he would be invited to an NHL this summer. I think he could get a really great career in big european league..

Not much to say, since I agree with all you write.

Couldn't really figure out if Ehlers was just not better yesterday, or if he was being lazy. Was it because of teammates not being good enough? I mean Bjork played a good game, so that would be a bad excuse.

At times he was just coasting around waiting for a great pass not really joining in the play.

I too am a huge Ehlers fanboy and tend to come down hard on him, not fair, but when he does well, we usually smother him with praise.

Aagard I was a bit dissapointed with, not at the level I expected of him.

Eller to me seems unintelligent, he made som really mindnumbingly stupid plays, and it makes more sense to me now, that he isn't producing in the DUB.

George could be that awesome goalie we have in the Euro leagues to always be available for the NT.

This is ofcourse a great feat for a Danish team, even though our team was older. 10 years ago we would have been dominated double digit like.

So we have come far, but I still don't know what to expect from them come WJC, the defense is horrible imo, they are bad a moving the puck out of the zone, and make some horrible ill fated passing.

64sog is to me, close to being embarrassing, and the 3-2 scoreline was a lucky one! leading 2-1 with under 2 mins to go, makes the loss sour though, but a win would have been all George's! He is a giant in a little mans body.

I don't think a QF is realistic, but tbh, I don't what level the Swiss team are at, and they are the team we need to beat to reach the QF.

If we go to the relegation, I also do not know much about Germany (Expecting them to be the other team). It all depends on Ehlers and Bjorkstrand and then George.

The USA team were skating circles around our D at times, so they cannot be counted on!

I wasn't happy with Ehlers's game either. He looked disengaged defensively. I know that he doesn't usually do that, but he needs to cut that part out of his game entirely if he wants to have a chance to crack the Jets roster next year.

Christian Kristiansen and Søren Dau are out of the team. one more will be cut after friendly game against Germany.
Kristiansen was injured in a friendly before the junior a challenge

Some friends from Danmark. You can tell my please which Danmark tv channel will by transmit matches from World Junior Championship? TH

I doubt any tv channels will be transmitting from WJC. I'm not even sure any danish tv stations knows there is something called WJC.

Just some fun information:

Danish Netminder George Sørensen, is half Thai.

Is he the first Thai to play in any elite hockey game?

To my knowledge none in the NHL or other elite teams have had players who are half Thai?

I wondered about him. Caught he junior A finals and was thinking he looked pretty dark skinned for a Dane.

I think your team is going to pull off an upset. Wouldn't be surprised if you take the Russians in your opener.

Wow that is really cool, I'm cheering for him even more! Gotta support your (half) brothers haha.

Here he is, for those of you who haven't seen the guy :)

A really small netminder, who makes up for lack of size with agility and energy.
He was the only reason Denmark did not get hammered by the USHL allstar team in the WJA Tourney.

I like the danish team. A lot of players that are regular (or at least it seems that way when you look at EP) in the Metal Ligaen, and players from Superelit and North America. I haven't seen Mads Eller play with the Oil Kings, but when I saw him in Frölunda J20 he was a bull who liked to hit everything that moves. Really like him. Haven't seen Asperup this year either, but last year he was good in the Superelit. Seems like he is struggling a bit this year stat-vise, but so is the whole Malmö J20. And then there's Ehlers.

If Sweden messes up, I'll root for the land of good beer and delicious smørrebrød.

If Skåne was a part of Denmark the team would be on Slovakia level:

Nikolaj Ehlers - Mads Eller - Oliver Bjorkstrand
Axel Blomqvist - Filip Karlsson - Fredrik Olofsson
Ludvig Elvenes - Mikkel Aagaard - Kim Rosdahl
Matthias Asperup - Alexander True - Kristian Jensen

Rasmus Andersson - Niklas Hansson
Sonny Hertzberg - Mads Larsen
Anton Cederholm - Ludvig Jarneskog

George Sörensen
Thomas Lillie

Asperup always does well for the NT.

I havent liked Eller, you can see he is talented and not your typical Danish player, but his intelligence is lacking.

He is a bull, and he does hit everything, but he also takes some really dumb penalties, and I his accuracy is less than admirable.

Must admit though, I have only seen 2-3 games with him for the Oil Kings and a few for Denmark's various Jr. teams.

But yes, it is one of our better teams, with 6 guys in the CHL and one or two more in North American college leagues. A good portion in the Swedish Jr. Elites and the rest playing in the Danish mens league.

Give Skåne back :) You don't need it anyways :D

That team would be quite alrite though! Id put Cederholm on the 2nd pairing in place of Hertzberg though:)

What do you mean "if"?

It is only deniers that clams that Skåne, Halland and Blekinge belongs to Sweden.

The Russians on HF are expecting a double digit win :)

Let's not hope they are right.

Yes...Lets hope so. I don't think it will be double digits. Best case is playing well and only losing by 2-4 goals.

But it could get ugly. Hope we stay disciplined.

I read somewhere that Viasat will be broadcasting the games versus Sweden and the Czechs. No word on the other two matches though.

I cant seem to find any WJC on Viaplay though, so you might have to have the full VIASAT sattelite package to be able to view the matches.
