Santini yes, Bailey no.

Coaching staff is a bigger issue and those PKs showed exactly why. Collins shouldn't be out there. And then two forwards on the 5 on 3 PK? I get it for the faceoff but once they got the clear another d-man has to come on. And the only d-man out there is the short Butcher - put out a d-man (Carlo, McCoshen, Hanifin) with reach.

Billy,

You know USA hockey pretty well.

The integrity and honesty has been blemished with the passing of Coach Tim Taylor, God rest his soul.

It's no longer an honest system. It's a good old boy network with "who you know, what college are you alimni of ( Wisconsin ). who owns your rights and which NHl team are you associated with". From coaching staff to players.

No different than life ! Not what you know but who you know.

Hopefully the players that deserve to be there don't get hurt by the politics

We need more offense, Louis,wood,motte can barey even compete at this level. Sure they can grind and rim the puck around the boards.

They can't make a steady offensive presence.

Who else was snubbed off this team?

The polotics are disgusting. They know less kids would stick around the USA hockey product if they constantly choose CHL players

Bailey has been invisible every time he's played for USA Hockey. There's no indication that he would be any different at this level. I wanted him at the December camp - you could argue he was a snub there but he's not a snub for the team.

Offensive talent isn't the issue - chemistry is.

That type of stuff will unfortunately plague any organization. The problem for USAH is there's no uproar when the boys club screws up because no one in the US outside of die hard fans even knows about this tournament let alone cares. When Canada has these issues heads roll. It's time for Johannson to be replaced though - fresh perspective would do wonders for USAH.

If they stay out of the box I wouldn't be surprised. At least the penalty issues (so far) doomed them in the first and not later on like last year. They're carrying the play 5 on 5. Still need to mix up the lines. Should be rolling 3 lines here on out.
 
Haven't been terribly impressed with Fasching beyond his drive and energy. I wouldn't have him in a top six role. I just don't see the skill.
 
Obviously Canucks biased but.. Would have been cool
If Cassels was the extra forward. He's been dynamite on the powerplay for the last 2 years in Oshawa and would have helped out USA

Bailey was in 1 tournament and had 2 goals in 4 games...
 
Felt like I had barely seen Tuch at all till that last faceoff. Not sure what's up there.

Osiecki better shorten the bench in the 3rd. Guys like Wood, Motte, Louis, Collins shouldn't be on the ice anymore.
 
Team USA seems to always lose to Team Russia thanks to the PP. That was the difference today as Team USA carried the play otherwise. Lucky bounce wins it.

Osiecki and this staff should never see this tournament again. Massive failure.
 
No excuses but this team was really far to young to challenge for a gold medal. Very disappointed by the utter lack of offense.
 
had high hopes for them but thought they played bad. Eichel IMO played too selfish a lot and actually really disappointed me. I thought he would dominate in this tourney.

Spot on. He did not have them prepared for this game, and then never made the proper adjustments.
 
Who's expected back next year?

Matthews, Werenski, Carlo, Hanifin?

D could be very good next year.
