Drouin-McDavid-MacKinnon

Not sure about Drouin, but those 2 could form a potential kid line come . . .

Gauthier? Really?
Other than Dumba, he is probably the worst player I've ever seen play for Canada. Maybe he'll be better on the smaller ice surface with his cement feet.
Probably a near-lock because he played on the team last year and Team Canada looks like it lacks size this year.
He's always been a shutdown D first, the big point production is new this year. He's 5th in the entire WHL in scoring, and leads his team. 1st in D scoring in the WHL, 6 points a head of #2. How the heck did you come to form either of these opinions?
WTF Joe Hicketts isnt a shutdown D...hes always been an offensive pmd.
I wonder if Team Canada inquired about Nathan MacKinnons availability. One can dream. Scary that he is still eligible.
No politics were involved, my only guess is that because this team might not have enough "size" or power forwards. Strome isn't a 4th line guy, they think Crouse fills the role better in the bottom 6 better than Strome, Marner is too small and doesn't help with the lack of size. That's my guess. Doubt Crouse makes the team anyway.Canada's not going to win too much politics and selections based on "hype" or draft position it's bs.
No disrespect to Ritchie or Virtanen or Lawson Crouse but why the living hell do you pass over Mitch Marner or Dylan Strome over them?? Cause they weigh less? Cause they're younger? Not gritty enough? lol. Add in the fact that Strome has chem with McDavid.
This has been going on for a while players making it on hype and with this attitude we can't and won't win. I honestly think Sweden will win it. They actually made wise selections. As a leaf fan I honestly think we don't deserve to win it and I wouldn't mind Sweden winning and Nylander scoring the GWG![]()
There's a good chance Gauthier will be on the team, he seems like a better player than last season. He seems more efficient this season and his skating is better, he's quicker, more intense and aggressive. He's still the same type of player, a defensive centre but he's worked on his skating and it shows when he goes after pucks, last year it seemed nobody liked Gauthier because he wasn't skilled enough or fast enough to play well he's faster this season but skill wise I'd say he's the same type of player we'll see in pro.Lol at all the Leaf fans throwing Gauthier in there like there's actually a chance.

All I want is a Morin - Sanheim pairing. Bigras blows btw.
I've seen him play dozens of times. He is an excellent 2-way defender. His defensive skills have always been fantastic and this season (and last year before he got injured) his offensive skills have taken a major step. He would not look remotely out of place on this team. I would have him quarterbacking the powerplay - I think that is where he is at his best.
PP: Domi - McDavid - Reinhart
Virtanen - Hicketts
I'm not sure how much of the scouting staff has been changed but this is the first World Juniors without Brad Pascall and Bob Nicholson leading the way. We now have Ryan Jankowski and Tom Renney as the head guys. It's a new regime, we're going to see some changes.
Dont know if it was discussed regarding drouin not wanting to go.

of course... given the choice, ALMOST ALL would opt to stay in the NHL. That close to realizing your NHL dream, your head checks out of junior hockey. Hell, even some players still in junior have checked out of junior hockey and are just serving time until the day comes to collect their pro salaries.
