There is a reason he is the only non-Rangers poster I can actually recite from memory.

I'm flattered. Thanks!!! I have no idea who you are, tho.

It speaks volumes how you dislike others who come into the American thread yet here you are in the Canadian thread. Anyway, thank you both for coming.

As a Blues fan, I was hoping to see Fabbri more in the highlights but it seems he had a pretty quiet game last night. I see that he got bumped down to the 3rd line with Lazar and Duclair joining the team (which totally makes sense. No complaints from me there). How has Fabbri looked so far in the tuneup games and scrimmages so far and how effective do any of you think Fabbri will be in a 3rd line role?

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Fabbri ends up on the first line with McDavid and Lazar within the next two games. Nice player, I think he'll work his way up the lineup.

Thanks for the response. I recall Fabbri and McDavid being awesome together over the summer so hopefully they eventually get paired together again but then again, there are a ton of awesome forwards on this team equally "deserving" of playing with McDavid. Heck, I bet McDavid would even make a schlub like me look good. ;)

Fabbri was fantastic for the Blues in camp/preseason and was more deserving of a spot than a couple of others (cough, Magnus Paajarvi, cough) but they chose to return him as they didn't want to lose other assets via waivers, he's so undersized at the moment, and they didn't want to start his UFA clock so early. The kid was mighty impressive though.

After last night's game I'm sold on Hicketts, they way he seamlessly joined jumped up in the offensive zone on 2 of the goals was great and was able to compete in his own zone. Good call by HC keeping him.

I thought Bowey was Canada's worst defenceman last night, I hope he wasn't picked for just being a right hand shot. And hopefully he just had a difficult game. 2 minor penalties, got walked around a few times...I could be wrong and might have only seen his mistakes...never seen the guy play before this tourney...thoughts?

I have seen him play alot and honestly i am not that big of a fan of him. Hes having a good year in Kelowna so far but I aam not sure if its just a coincidence or what, but the games Ive seen I have never really been impressed. Seems to make alot of odd plays with the puck in his end in the games Ive seen live. I just always get that nervous feeling when he has the puck in his end... Like I said, thats just me and it could be a coincidence, but I am curious what others think

Bowey is really good. I've seen him play multiple times in Kelowna and always leave saying he was the best defenseman in the game.

I havent watched him in the WHL so I cant say for sure, but that doesnt mean hes not the worst on Canada still. Every single one of these dmen are likely considered the best in every game they play in their respective leagues.

Problem is when its best on best, suddenly Bowey might be the worst. I wasnt impressed last night but he didnt look like Dumba out there. Hopefully it was just a rough game and he can play at the level youve seen him at

Nurse had a stronger game against the Russians than he did against the Swedes. He was more reserved aside from a few good passes and the odd scrum.

I really hope he doesn't shy away from being physical because he doesn't want to take penalties.

I am excited as always for the world juniors. As a Oilers fan I am excited to see Darnell Nurse play and see how much he has improved since his draft date. He looked good this year during the Oilers prospect games in the preseason. I am sure his extra years in CHL and AHL have given him a edge over some of the other players in the tournament. I am also excited to see Connor McDavid play. He looked awesome in the 2013 U18 tournament where Canada won gold. He wasn't much of a presence in last years WJC but he was really young. I think he will be much more dominant this year as long as his hand is fully healed. I really hope the Oilers come in last and draft McDavid they will finally have the superstar forward they desperately need. Lastly I made a Team Canada Wallpaper for the WJC. Enjoy.

as a fan of the game i pray mcdavid does not go to edmonton

I really hate saying this cause I want to see Canada win in every single aspect of this tournament, but I think Eichel is going to steal the show away from McDavid as far as this whole McDavid/Eichel thing is going on. I still think McDavid will go number 1 in the draft, but after this tournament, Eichel will shrink the gap and with the tournament being in Canada, he will want to prove to Canada that he thinks he is better than McDavid. Eichel is a very special talent and will put on a show this tournament IMO.... like I said, I hate saying that!!.... so dont hate me haha

I'm surprised they didn't even give Morrissey a letter. I think they made the right choices, but I thought they would have given 3 A's instead of 2 and had a rotating system.

The only weakness I see on this team is with the D. Not enough solid defenders, too many offensive defenseman. That and maybe goaltending if Fucale plays.

But up front, they are far and away the best team in the tournament. If Canada can keep the puck out of their net they will most likely win gold.

Obviously, I hope you're right.

It's funny. For years Hockey Canada was criticized for leaving the skilled scorers at home. It would be awful if that was our downfall this year - because we didn't have enough defensive players.

Talk about the roster all you want.

This will be the worst attended World Junior tournament in Canadian history, the Montreal organizers have FAILED...FAILED miserably.

Good, glad to see Hockey Canada fail regarding ticket sales.

why in the World would you keep this tournament in Montreal.

It's not even a Hockey town just a Montreal Canadiens town. People here probably don't even know other leagues exist in Europe haha.

But seriously, Idiots just going for a cash grab.

At the core this is a ''kid's playing Hockey tournament'' and they've lost sense of that.

Absolute morons.

Don't sugar coated, Eva. Tell us what you think. ;)

Question for you...

If 2015 had been Toronto-Hamilton and 2017 had been Montreal-Quebec City, would 2017 have sold out?
