Fabbri-McDavid-Duclair
Domi-Reinhart-Virtanen
Dal Colle-Petan-Point

Bowey-Nurse
Morrissey-Hicketts

Comrie/Fucale

The locks in my opinion. Curious when final cuts are. Canada plays their first per tournament game Friday which is the same day as the NHL roster freeze.

Guess we'll probably find out this weekend.

When are the last cuts announced

After the game against Russia I believe.

Dal Colle should be on the non-McDavid top line. That will create two incredible scoring threats.

Having him bottom six is silly.

Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, as all 4 lines will be a threat offensively. It's good to have that skilled player in your third line, he would be playing against easier oppositions.

Looking forward to watching some actual Blues prospects in the tournament. We haven't really had one in it since Tarasenko.

Wanted to ask if any of you think Fabbri ISNT a lock? I've seen him as a lock in many places but is that really the consensus? I'm absolutely stoked to see him play with McDavid.

Jaden Schwartz and Jordan Binnington have both been in it for Canada since Tarasenko. And Fabbri is absolutely a lock.

I thought Schwartz played in 2011 and Tarasenko 2012. It was the opposite. My bad.

Binnington...I hope he turns into an NHLer someday, but I can't say I'm overly excited about it.

Given how the Oilers are playing this year a win over Team Canada is not a given by any stretch.
One of the major complaints about the Oilers is that they are built like and play like a junior team, so I tend to agree here.

I'd also make a case for Team USA.

Hahahaha please. A professional hockey team that plays in the NHL would work any team of juniors to a fine powder. But I am sure you were joking.

Per coach Groulx, Petan, McDavid and Hicketts the scratches on Friday v Russia... Fucale starts

Probably leaves Fabbri as the 13th forward, although I would hope they'd try some different line combos.

A world jr team wouldnt even beat an ahl team. Oilers would win by double digits

looks like we have our 3 cuts :sarcasm:

Morrisey - bowey
Nurse - theodore
Hicketts

as locks on the back end it looks like as Groulx said that the Hicketts scratch has nothing to do with the injury in sundays game! I for one agree with this! Things are shaping up nicely for sure!

Interesting as we should hear news very soon about lazar, fingers crossed

Its more likely they leave Petan and Fabbri as the LW/RW pairing, and rotate the centers through them since they're likely the guys on the bubble - Dickinson, Paul, and Chartier...maybe Point and Gauthier as well. But I suspect the first three are the ones they'll try and really evaluate in a variety of scenarios on Friday.

I meant that for Fridays game Fabbri will be the 13th forward. With the linemates he's been practicing with for the most part, Petan and McDavid scratched

I'm liking this team... it has some good pieces. I'll like it even more if Lazar gets released. otherwise, it's a contender.

My fault - I didn't see that Petan had been scratched, just McDavid. My bad. Yes, Fabbri would probably be the 13th forward then, but that's not exactly bad news for him.
