I wasn't questioning you just saying I don't think Gabby waives for either of those places.

Return would hopefully be a #1 and a good young prospect forward or a solid roster player and either a prospect or a #2. Problem is, as with the Nash deal, teams in contention aren't going to trade a top 6 guy in season. Rangers are a border line team and if he 'd go back maybe J.T. Miller and a 2nd?

I'd rather have a 1st round pick or a forward prospect with size.

Oh please. Like he can't be replaced.

Did I say he couldn't? I'd rather not hand him over for a fringe backup goalie. That's robbery, I get it, his contract isn't worth his production, but at least he has had production.

I am not saying I would do that trade, but sometimes trading someone isn't for the return you get, but for what it frees up. Sometimes, freeing up a space in the lineup for a better young player or freeing up money to get a player you need is so beneficial, that it ultimately doesn't matter what you get for the player you traded away.

I can understand that, and if we're fading out of the playoff picture or have another move waiting to happen that involves alot of salary than I am fine with it, but trading RJ just for the sake of trading RJ is stupid, imo.

I agree. I think a lot depends on who we plan on having on the team next year. Who are we not going to bring back, who are we going to trade for or sign, and what young players are going to be on the team. I personally think Wennberg and Erixon will be on the team next year.

This is all moot for all intent and purpose... I would be shocked if any NHL team would take RJ's contract right now... We are stuck with RJ based on NHL guaranteed contracts (help us NFL)... The best we can hope for is veteran play out of RJ as we are seeing this season...

RJ is a guy I could see playing on a 3rd or 4th line SC team....

IDK about Wennberg, he could use more seasoning and it doesn't hurt. I could see Rychel on the team as he is more of a banger than Wennberg.

No doubt about Erixon imo. I think he replaces Nikitin. Then Savard, Prout, and Goloubef do the rotation like Savard and Prout do now.

Isn't it 100% that Forsberg is coming next year? Didn't he sign an ELC?
