So what do you guys think of the Pens so called "Gold Out"? I think they should've either stuck with the white-out, or changed the gold color to ACTUAL gold, instead of that crappy Vegas Gold. It doesn't look terrible on their uniforms, but translate it to every single fan in the arena wearing shirts in that color, and it didn't look that great.

Imagine how much better it would look in real gold:

Better than the overdone white-outs. At least this is a team specific color... something I MUCH prefer!

That's just another reason I prefer colors for the home team! Make the environment as hostile as possible for the opposition. Flaunting your own colors does that, wearing white does not.

Eh, that's just what the pens get for switching from bright gold (which the Pirates and Steelers use, making Pittsburgh a really nice "gold and black" city when all three teams used it) to pale gold.

it's hilarious when teams do the whiteout when it's no longer the home team wearing white.... yeah you'll sure intimidate the other team by wearing their color

If i had it my way, everyone in the stands for game 3 would be wearing forest green

Actually, and it pains me to say this, I think red would be a much more intimidating color. I mean, you see a sea of forest green, it kind of looks like our arena is a little empty because its the same color as the seats. And forest green isn't a very aggressive color to begin with.

I think we all know green's going to be the primary color for the franchise in the very near future and I think that's a good thing, because it means we're honoring our heritage, and also that we're picking a color that's only in use by one other team (which shall not be named) instead of one that's already in use by fully one-third of the entire league (Montreal, New Jersey, Detroit, Chicago, Ottawa, Calgary, Phoenix, Florida, Carolina, & Washington). So let's forget about the red, and if forest green doesn't make a good (color)-out, then we can solve that problem by realizing that not every team needs to do that gimmick. It was originally just Winnipeg's thing and I don't really see why anyone else feels the need to copy it.

We can have our own playoff traditions, like the State of Hockey flags or rags, and actually cheering at times not immediately following a Wild goal.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

Has anyone else noticed the sheer amount of goal scoring in these playoffs? Only one Game 1 has yet to be seen, and already the scores for the rest of the game 1's are as such:

TB-MTL: 5-4 OT
PIT-CBJ: 4-3
ANA-DAL: 4-3
NYR-PHI: 4-1
STL-CHI: 4-3 3OT
COL-MIN: 5-4 OT
SJ-LA: 6-3

Personally I hope it stays like this, it's so exciting (with the exception of our Game 1 of course -_-)

Yup. The round of the playoffs tends to be high scoring, especially the first game -- nerves, excitement and all. Like I said in another thread, each year seems to follow this pattern. Round 1: scoring, round 2: goaltending, round 3: defense, round 4: depth.
