A place.
Yes and all those surgeries he had were just for show.

Considering those surgeries never fixed the problem and he just coincidentally got it fixed completely right after he skipped town..... it's almost conspiracy theory territory but my hate level allows me to entertain it.

Exactly! He has been on 2 other teams before LA! He did the samething with those other teams, news flash Gaboriks hurt. Good for him he's doing well with this SCP. LA is not winning SC!

Surgeries, even "simple" ones have risks. To imply that he would put his body under that stress and take the inherent risks just because he doesn't want to play for a team is pretty funny.

gaborik was good every other year for the rangers. he's very brittle and when he's not scoring goals, he's kinda useless. he's not very good away from the puck.

he does have 8 goals this post season whereas rick nash has zero. if you catch lightning in a bottle with gaborik you are lucky. he's such a wild card.

Agreed. And I'd like to think the organization would've done something about it if there had been any signs of him wanting to have them done just so he wouldn't have to play for the team.

Pretty sure the way you order coffee from the Tim's there is "Au laaaaiiiit, au lait, au lait, au laaaaaaiiit..." :sarcasm:

On an untelated note, Tim Hortons is junk. The coffee sucks, and the donuts and pastries are all ****ing prepackaged. Always fresh.., my ass.

So who's all left..? Who am I going to cheer for?

Boston? Title Town has won too many championships in all four sports in the last decade or so -- otherwise, maybe.
Montreal? Canada's team, eh? And you thought Montreal fans were arrogant before...
Chicago? They've got two Cups in the last handful of years.
New York? No. It's New York.
Los Angeles? No. It's Los Angeles.
Anaheim? Gordon Bombay's old squad.. Hmmm. I don't like that two California teams are still in it and we're not.. But I do like Perry, Getzlaf & Selanne. Decisions..

OK then, it's settled; I want no one to win the Cup this year. I'm rooting against everyone.

Calling the Habs "Canada's team" is the equivalent of calling the Cowboys "America's team". Both of them are popular, big markets, deep wallets, have underachieved since the early 90's, overrate their players, are based in places that are culturally different from the rest of their respective countries, and both teams are based in jurisdictions (Quebec, Texas) that tried to separate from the rest of their respective countries.

Doing Nothing
Gaborik had a lot of little nagging groin issues that were never seriously treated. He finally had the major surgery at the start of his last year with the Wild. He hasn't had any significant groin issues since. That was in 2008.

It's like a pitcher getting Tommy John's...if it's an issue, get it fixed early in your career.

I'm jumping on with whoever wins the Ducks/Kings series.

Can't stand Boston.
Can't stand Montreal.
Can't stand Chicago.
Can't stand NYR.

Don't really like the Kings or Ducks but they have something I can cheer for. Plus I really want the Hawks to lose.

Ducks - Koivu
Kings - Gaborik

I'm embracing this as well, although I do want to see Chicago lose worse than the other teams.
