Guys, it's 1 a.m. where I am (South Africa), and I'm monitoring the draft on these boards. You have to keep me occupied and keep me from falling asleep...I'm already tired!

Excited, nervous, scared or resigned to being dissapointed? Where are you emotionally? I'm somewhere between the first two, with a little of the last.

Here's to hoping for Nicky Schmaltz!

I'd say we will have quite the draft if we end up with any one of Sherbak, Barbeshev, Schmaltz, Ho sang, Kempe, Milano or Larkin

Agree about Schmaltz, hoping he is still on the board when we pick. I know he is ranked lower, but I see him going around the 15th pick.

I don't know - I think he'll still be there at 33. The big question is does anyone think there will be another "Jankowksi" in this draft...someone a team drafts that wasn't expected to be a 1st rounder?

A dman goes number 1 overall! I think it's the right decision. I haven't really watched much of Ekblad because I knew we wouldn't be in a position to select him, but everyone says he's steady as a rock with a lot of talent.

Almost certainly.

Ekblad interviews really well. Seems exceptionally mature for his age.

Don't you mean a "Schmaltz" ?

Yea. He is a borderline franchise player and definitely a top pairing D. That was the best pick. Not sure what they turned down in trade, but he will be solid for years to come. Florida has some good young talent.
