I still have a feeling we won't be selecting at 21, or at all tonight. If we do, I will be very excited because I like a LOT of prospects, and one of them is bound to be our pick. I would be happy with any selection at 21 other than a goalie, or Travis Sanheim. I understand the excitement around Sanheim, but he's so raw and has so much improving to do before you could even consider putting him in the AHL, much less up with the big boys. I've changed my opinion so many times about who I want the Blues to draft most at 21 because there are so many prospects that are intriguing. I think I'm leaning now towards Barbashev or Scherbak. They aren't centers, but they are very talented and I'd be thrilled with either.

If you take Barbashev, I think you have to take a chance on Tkachev as well with a later pick. He seems to have some size issues, as well as not being a great defensive player, but his offensive instincts are top notch. He's one of those guys that knows how to be slippery with and without the puck. That being said, I also think it'd take just the right coaching and development group to make sure he hits his potential. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into their chemistry at the junior level, but I still think he could be a potential steal in the 3rd round or later.

Judging by their tweets, Jaskin and Barbashev are pretty tight, FWIW. Jaskin even posted a pre-draft picture with the kid.

Linemates in Montcon I believe. I would not be surprised if we took him if he's available. I think he'll probably go closer to 15, but if he's there I wouldn't be surprised.

Scherbak is a big fan of Tarasenko and got to meet him this December.

Scherbak is my guess. We need to take advantage of having Tarasenko and stock up on the gritty, skilled Russians.

Anyone think we may get Barbashev and Scherbak? Tarasenko is the guy the Blues ought to be building around. The Blues have the pieces to make a similar move as to when they took both Tarasenko and Schwartz. I see a trade coming that allows the Blues to reload up front for the future

I'd be ecstatic about that. Right now, they are 2 of the players that I want most, but it's a scenario that's almost too good to be true. We'll definitely get a couple really good guys, and I'd be glad if we just get one of them.

Quit getting our hopes up, DAMNIT!

Barbashev will go at 19, Scherbak at 20, and every center we want before that  That's the life of a Blues fan. Either that, or we'll pass on both for a goalie, and allow Chicago to grab Scherbak. I might have to leave the site if that happens

Hi friends. I might need to watch the draft via Internet. If I want to avoid death. Any one know of a link? Is front row sports or whatever the place? Thanks

Who would be the biggest "meh" pick we could make at 21? Mckeown? Solid Dman that does everything pretty well, but nothing great? I would be pretty "meh" about that.

That would be pretty awesome. Whatever happens I hope they are able to get 2 scoring forwards with their first 2 picks, whether the picks be 21 and 33 or if they trade up.

Any non-forward. Literally, just a forward will get me excited, and if it's a center, I can't really tell you how excited I would be because I'd probably get an infraction for it.

You guys are crazy. The answer to the center hole is clearly playing for Penn State.

One of my favorite times of the year during the draft and then free agency. Love it.

Oh please.
The Blues will draft an offensively talented right-handed defenseman. They have to.

Honka or McKeown. I've seen mocks where we grab each. They are both RHD. I like McKeown and think he will be a good pick where he goes, but last thing we need is another RHD prospect. It we got one in the 2nd where they were clearly BPA, tha is one thing, but at 21 is a mistake.
