I don't care if it was a dive or not. Our biggest rival was BEATEN.

I hate Mexico as much as I hate the Penguins, Devils, and Islanders combined.

Unfortunately most US soccer fans don't work up the lather of hate for Mexico that they should.

Oh trust me it's there for me too

I was glad to see them lose like that today.

Must admit, this World Cup has been exciting, and I get into it every 4 years (without watching one soccer game in between).

The flopping and the fake injuries always has/will rub me the wrong way. These guys just look pathetic out there. Its disrespectful to the game.

Wow. Nigeria has really scraped by the skin on their teeth in these last 15 minutes.

How does Mertesacker get 100 caps with the golden era German squad?

He definitely was the most reliable CB from 2006-2010 (before Hummels and others really emerged). Even now, with Badstuber injured, he ist the 2nd or 3rd best, so he gets some games. Yesterday for instance, I thought he was the best of the defense, which of course isn't saying much.

But the real problem with Löw is, that he still hasn't been able to install a defensively sound system. And the fault doesn't really lie with the defense, but in midfield and the lack of backtracking from the wingers. And we won't win anything with Löw because of that.

Need a good place in the city to watch this game.

Anyone have any recommendations? Open to a bar or outdoor viewing party, as long as the atmosphere is fun.

I think you guys lose to Columbia or Brazil in the semi's.

Personally, I've been under the impression that Columbia would play the Netherlands in the finals.

I've gotten one game wrong in the rd of 16, so far.

Chile vs. Brazil. Had a 2-1 victory for Chile.

Argentina and USA, my picks for today. Although I fully expect USA-Belgium to be as open of a contest as Chile-Brazil.

I have a feeling we see new faces on the pitch today...Possibly Julian Green
